Any ideas of a decent venue for a drink before the arsenal game

The Drayton I think it's called behind the away bridge.

Went in there for our first game on my own till I was inside the ground and didn't clock this complete tool Arsenal fan I know of who fancies himself as top boy. He's a pr1ck. Got to the bar and found him hiding inside his coat behind his mates so being on my own I played his own game of ignorance and left instead of being glassed (it might be a plastic policy in there) or bottled with numbers in his favour because he loves that.

Boring story but be careful. He's a complete div and his mates might be.

Or go to one of the main junction tube stations where plenty of Palace will be. The ground drinks are pricey.

Really dingy if the Drayton's the same with lager that looks like it's come through pipes connected to the urinals.

Last time I went to Emirates in 2014 I had a great drink with a Palace mate in The George just outside Luton station.
Made the mistake of having some more at St Pancras and got stung for £6.50 a pint of Peroni , nearly 3 times what I normally pay.

Drank at the 12 Pins bear Finsbury Park Station, mixed pub with zero problems last occasion there. Heading that way Saturday.

Good call. Living nearby I can say 12 Pins is a good spot. Gooners do drink there but have never had any problems myself. Avoid any of the pubs on the Holloway Road as they have "Gooner only" door policies. If you like craft ale and some sounds the Piebury Corner eatery on Holloway Road (sadly all the pies are named after Gooner players but they are really good pies) is an alternative to a pub. Need to get there early (ie before 12.30) as it is rightly very very popular.

The Drayton Park is away fans only and will be full of Palace.
Both of the Spoons at Victoria will be full of Palace, if they put on enough staff.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

TBF Boz that price was at the Main Line station bar, we were tanked up and couldn't be bothered to go elsewhere, probably a bit cheaper in normal pubs .
Sounds like you will have a great time anyway.
