btw brightonmeister i like wickham, i think he has a lot to offer.

but, he is a sicknote, he was a sicknote at sunderland aswell.

thats why they sold him for £7m.

Fraid you’re wrong again Brainy. You really don’t do yourself any favours do you. Have a look at his injury history in detail here. Hardly what you would say constitutes a sick note. [Link]

Less than 4 months out injured throughout his entire career before this injury.

Wickham is not a sicknote. He’s had one very bad injury to date in his career. That is the current injury which is an A/C. That doesn’t make him a sicknote. His injury record prior to this big one is standard fare stuff. Never had an injury keeping him out for more than 8 games before this one.

Oh thank god someone else realises this. Drives me mad that people keep calling him a sicknote! Never any issues until that and people seem obsessed with blaming the board, manager and who ever else takes their fancy for signing a "sicknote" It's a very nasty injury that coudln't have been predicted.

Connor Wickham's injury record :

The stats reveal that he has missed 70 games since he joined us in Aug 2015.

The point I was trying to make was that yes he has had injuries for us but we didn't buy a sicknote, we actually bought a player with a very good injury record - the fact he has had bad injuries after we bought him could not have been predicted. Some posters (and this certainly isn't a dig at you) believe that Parish should have guessed that he'd have injuries or perhaps even have done the medical himself. I find these random statements annoying - like Benteke being a bad signing and the boards fault - I didn't hear one complaint when we signed him - or last season for that matter.

They sold him largely because they kept trying to play him as a winger.

It’s great blinding people with the science of facts on here. They’ll still argue the toss til they’re blue in the face though because of the amount of time and effort they’ve put into their arguments. They always end up tripping themselves up eventually though. Either that or they just blindly continue with their agendas and end up going down with the ship.

You are right on most counts except I don't think they actually take any time or effort, they seem to make a biased decision from no where and stick to it regardless of your well measured points to the total contrary. That said, it's worse when you give a good point and they just don't reply because they know they are wrong. that actually really gets on my tits.

All I did was to provide facts in relation to Wickham's injury record.
I wasn't making a statement, opportuning blame or anything like that.
He has missed a lot of games for us and it must be very frustrating and infuriating for the poor lad.
The facts reveal that in the 4 years before he joined us he only missed a very few games through injury.

Stepping on toes here but I don't think that was even slightly about you, it was in response to me. And in fairness he posted the link with his injury record on before you did.

Quite right re the frustration - my son has the same injury, had some very good football opportunities that he's missed out on because of it, six months into the rehab and he's climbing the walls desperate to play - must be worse when its essentially your whole life.

Apologies for the repetition - I never saw that link.

Wasn’t aimed at you Willo mate. Was aimed at the people that just rattle off their opinions without thinking or having anything to back them up. This leads them to being wrong time and time again. We’ll still see that Connor is a sicknote on here, even though it’s been proven that up until this big injury he was anything but.
The lad is one of the most physically fit footballers ever to pull on a Palace top. A sicknote he is not.
