So we should just sign up for a one party state and do away with elections? DPRGB

Like so many 'brands' people just tire of them and see them as irrelevant and that is UKIP I think.

populism, brexit, privatisation, monetarism give me an 'ism' and in ten years time its a forgotten footnote in history.

What a bizarre interpretation.

Not wishing to elect an even worse government is sensible, not undemocratic.

It's your 'truth' certainly. To everyone outside of your political bubble it's a hyperbolic statement.

It doesn't surprise me.

Lots of EU supporters aren't really that bothered by democracy...it's only surface deep....they are ok with the concept of the commission....and look at what happened in Spain.

For some of them it's only democracy when it suits them.

You said regardless of quality. Your statement read that swapping a government regardless of quality (i.e. no matter if better or worse) is bad, ergo it's better never to swap governments, no matter how good or bad the alternatives.

Pretty sure Hrolf isn't an EU supporter. He appears to be in support of a one party state though. That would contravene EU rules though so maybe that's why he wanted to leave so badly.

Me, I'm relatively ambivalent about the EU, but respect its history and achievements. I just think Brexit has been managed abysmally and is proving to be a waste of time when the NHS is falling apart and inequality and living standards are getting worse by the day. Those problems aren't the fault of the EU and leaving it won't magic them better.

Don't be daft. The implication was that the alternative was an even worse option. Any other interpretation is mischevious.

Here comes the straw man. I do grow weary of having to respond to such tripe. At least we only a few proponents remaining here.

More money is spent on the NHS than ever, its budget is six times what is spent on defence. We barely spend 2 percent on defence.....Russia spends 5.3.

You probably support Labour's acceptance of open immigration with its 300, 000 year net increases and much larger ones during Blair's tenure.

So really....Like Labour essentially you believe that rich people are going to pay for massive increases in tax expenditure.....the pipe dream economics of the far left....a lesson that France is only just recovering from.

pefwin Flag Where you have to have an English ... 23 Jan 18 4.49pm

I believe there is a place for UKIP, it is solely the name that has been overtaken by “happenings”. There needs to be a party for those whose views are right of the Tories, these people mostly would not agree traditional conservative policies, or be the victims of the impacts of said policies.

I would agree with Sterling that spending on the armed forces is shameful, and previously have proposed a penny on income tax on HOL. Sustained spending is required similar to Russia.

As we are on the glidepath to “splendid isolation” our education system needs overhauling, too many people are now over educated, I say that rather than learned as the education has happened but not stuck again plenty of examples around; the education system needs to re-shaped to provide more persons prepared for more menial roles as immigrants will no longer fulfil these positions, there is no reason to keep people in school to 18. The NHS requires similar reform and re-targeting post Brexit (anyone can state the usual bob jobs and artificial insemination). Those that say UKIP job is done, I don’t think understands what Brexit means apart from the more racialist connotations ( no more Poles…..job done).

The problem is that if people think only rich people need to pay more you truly don’t understand the cluster f*** this county is heading for and everybody can get ready for grater taxation and continuing but faster drop in living standards compared with most of the rest of the world.
