I see that Alexis Sanchez has been given 16 months suspended for diddling the tax authorities in Spain. I'm right in thinking that if I did it the judge would leave put the "suspended" stuff, amn't I not?

There's been a long list of players and coaches who've had to pay a bribe instead of going to jail. They'd probably do the same to you if you were cash rich. Sanchez, Messi, Modric, Mourinho, Neymar, Mascherano, Ronaldo etc. And it's derived from Beckham's time there, as they created a special law for him and others at the time to pay a flat rate of tax at roughly half what they should have paid. When that expired all of the above got "creative" with their taxes instead.

It is also unlikely had the sentence not been suspended Sanchez would still not spend a day in prison as he is domiciled in the UK. I don't think Spain wants to spend money on having him extradited. However, should Man City have to play a Europe fixture in Spain then it could have been interesting.

I would rather fine him heavily, hit em where it hurts. If they can't or wont pay then send them to jail.

We are always above the seaweed in every table. Can Brighton hold a candle to our greatness ? Maybe Wilf will sign for you when he is aged 40.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Super Glenn Murray' by Midlands Eagle Wouldn't have flirted with relegation previous 2 seasons with him and this season would be in a similar position to Watford. Benteke and Co. are only thing holding us back from flirting with Europe rather than relegation. It's like every season Parish gets 99 pieces of the 100 piece jigsaw in place but can never quite get that final part - a goal scorer. Ironically we had one all along.
