Very good prem centre halfs go for more than £10m i agree...but scout right and cite keane & maguire as examples and youcan get bargains. i dont pretend to have the answers as i not a scout & dont watch muchchampionship football anymore, but like 95% on here i had never heard of amadou who we are bidding £16m for before we bid for him. a few years ago, the french market was good value but its now saturated, see pape souare for a good example, now its caught up with the rest of football, souare would cost x4 what we paid. im pretty sure out scouts could find a very decent championship CB for between 5-8m rather than take a punt on somebody we dont even know can hack english football.

You don’t watch much championship football , but you are pretty sure we could pick up a decent Center back between 5-8m from the championship? Ha ha. Brilliant.

And who knows how good he will turn out to be. I can’t believe how many pages have been wasted on this 😂 Sell our no 2 defender when the no 1 is still injured and the no 3 has been ruled out for the rest of the season? It must be April 1 soon...

Of course we shouldn't be sell him. Just confuses me why people are moaning we don't sign young cheap players when clearly that's what the club has done this window.

Regardless of the price we get, IMHO we don’t sell James. He’s an invaluable squad member for us and we’re yet to see the best of him I feel.

A big asset of his is that he is quite quick for a CB and he often makes last ditch tackles and interceptions. He also complements Sakho well, I think. Would be a really bad idea to sell.
