I do wonder whether the simplicity of getting a player in later, saves you money.
In a long month like January, a player who maybe on £60k a week, do your business in the last three days, you've saved your club/business £240K.
Probably not the main reason I'm sure but I wonder if there is something in that ?

I have always preferred doing business early, late business means to me getting players the selling club aren't bothered replacing in the window. I'd rather get players the selling club don't want to sell, but will at the right price, provided they have time to sign a replacement.
