I know it's not cool to be all moany - but if by the morning we still have Benteke and the sun doesn't rise then I expect quite a few will be angry... or at least a tad pissed off. Then the OP will look like a visionary - like that bloke who kept saying how good Speroni was and we hounded him off the boards..... and then 2 years later admitted he was right all along. What's your point Pikester you boring git? (Bit of an Iain Dowiesque asking yourself questions going on there) ....erm I'm guess my point is although it's a few hours too soon to start wetting pants, IF we haven't got a striker in the morning then this place will go into meltdown - For how long have we needed a striker? Bloody ages.

What is really annoying now, is that both Lille and the scandinavian club are saying they won't sell their players unless they can get replacements. Why wait until the LAST DAY of the transfer window for this to come out. If Palace approached both these clubs and they told them this from the start, then its severely bad planning from Palace. They should have had other options lined up. If these clubs are only now coming out with these statements then its out of order. Just tell other clubs they are not for sale and stop wasting everyones time.

Conspiracy theory... Transfer deadline day is a deal done with Sky to hold off all done deals until the last day as part of the overall Sky deal to make deadline day a circus of transfer speculation, nearly done and done deals..!! After all if all deals were done early - deadline day would mean nothing..!! Jim White and his yellow tie wouldn't have a job..!! Just a thought..!! COYP

I unfortunately have to agree with this post. We have been in desperate need of a striker all season and have left it to the last few hours of the deadline day.

You would like a proven Premiership striker (and let's be honest most of those are in the Premier League already) and they should have been lined up before the window. Have a look at how many players have moved Premier League clubs this January. So that leaves taking a risk as the only option. And then you have to legislate for a club wanting to sell and a player wanting to join. Way, way too many Fifa wannabes on here.
