This is a bit of an odd take on the whole thing but did anybody watch the Netflix Documentary on Sunderland?

They were a team in complete disarray, no one wanted to join them because of the uncertainty of the Club's ownership, the Chairman didn't want to spend a penny (I don't mean Parish levels of tightness, I mean literally not put 1p into the club or even attend meetings or talk to the Clubs Manager's).

They were in the worst position imaginable and of course they got relegated that season. That said, the Scouting Team and combination of Grayson and Coleman, did highlight certain Strikers they wanted and nearly got them over the line. Some you could even say were relatively successful, Lewis Grabban on loan for first half of the season, identifying and promoting a youth Striker, missing out on Ross McCormack at the last minute.

What's my point? Well, I think arguably Grabban or McCormack or even their Youth Striker couldn't do any worse than Sorloth (I'm not saying they'd do better).

If Sunderland have a better Scout network in place with literally zero in the bank, shouldn't we immediately be trying to hire them or at least sack our lot and start recruiting elsewhere because we had 9 million pounds in the bank. I know that doesn't buy you a Benteke, I know it certainly doesn't buy you a Lukaku or Aguero but it's still a lot of money even in the Prem.

Either buy the top Championship striker or alternatively, go and find that gem in the second string of a Chelsa or Liverpool.

We have all been fooled into believing £9mil is nothing in the Premier League but even now that isn't true. It's certainly worth a lot LOT more than a Sorloth if you use some imagination and hard work scouting so I think it's time for a Face-lift of the Scouting team.

Thoughts? Fair?

Is that documentary any good? I might need to take a peep.

Showed a disgraceful lack of commitment in every game here. I hope the loan goes well for him, of course, so that we can hopefully get some of our money back when we sell him.

It was strange to see his attitude, even s**** strikers can at least run around a bit like a headless chicken. I am thinking Wilbraham.

A truly terrible signing, in a truly amateur window. How are Rakip and Jach getting on.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I don't know whether they're related. But I do remember Borge's Palace "career" - one appearance as a substitute in 1969. Blimey, that's fifty years ago.

I've come full circle on this now and wish the useless lump all the best as long as he doesn't come back.

The much larger question and more worrying is who in the name of suffering fcuk told the club he was worth a 9 million punt in the first place, becuase whoever it was should be made to pay the 9 million back.

Then be sacked.

Difficult to say. Do you know how many bad buys they brought in? Seem to remember them buying some s**t over the years...agree we over paid for Sorloth though.

Can't blame the player for not being up to prem standard - someone needs to get the sack over this one £10m? Was it Greedman?

Also recall the meeting where they say that they'd profited on... I can't remember the exact number, something like 3 out of 40-something signings? Their scouts are just as bad as ours

I actually remember Borg Thorup so was pretty surprised when I found out he had made only one appearance as a substitute. I assumed he had played loads of games for us otherwise why would I remember him? Bit of a mystery.

Could Borg Thorup be the Norwegian Mick Hill?

I don't think he's that bad, he just doesn't suit our play and we don't play to strengths. He's good at link up play with back to goal, but doesn't offer us enough goals - would be fine if he was center point of 4-3-3. When I've seen him live, I kept on thinking that other palace players didn't trust him though, as they never really looked to play him in.

I think Borge was memorable because of an unusual link with Scandinavian players via Scottish Greenock Morton.

At the time, before the European profile of the premier League, it was seen as newsworthy and 'exotic'.
