I was thinking the same today, although his return at the moment is about the same as for the Danish team he previously played for. Then again if we can't secure anything then might not be a bad shout.

Maybe he just wasn't ready. Maybe he had a batch of bad matches. Maybe just unlucky (I remember a disallowed goal before there was VAR and he got pretty little playing time). Lots of players weren't ready for the PL at 21-22-23 years old, but they came back later. Not even Salah or de Bruyne were appreciated at Chelsea in their youth and that turned out to be an idiotic decision.

I believe that whoever negotiated this loan deal had their pants pulled down. No recall trigger in deal, just an agreement that if he plays more than 50% of games they can have him for £6M

What if Sorloth refuses to go? Says he wants another crack at the prem? They can still force it? I've read a lot about this no-recall thing, but wasn't there also talk about him extending his Palace contract, meaning a permanent move mightn't be as easy/cheap as some say?
