Do any of you know the terms of Sorloth's loan deal to the Turks or is it just speculation?
As to his time at Palace, it was interesting to hear Gary Cahill basically say that a player needs a run of say 10 games in a team before one can judge whether or not they are up to the job. I don't recall Sorloth having anything like that kind of run with us.
I'd like to see what he could do for us after two seasons in the Turkish league and further games in the Norwegian team (4 goals in 5 games in 2019, although 2 of those were against the Faroes and 1 against Malta - the other was against Romania. All of them in Euro qualifying games).
He's just 24 now, so has time to improve.

What annoyed me about Sorloth was his lack of work rate and for a big guy his lack of physicality again the centre halves. I'm not sure he deserved a run of games I suspect if Roy had seen more effort he might have given him more game time.

It's a no from me.

Yes he will still be improving as a player but if he doesn't return the good thing is that it looks as if we can at least recover most of our original investment.

Most clubs seem to be struggling for strikers.

Did you see tha he got a hat-trick this weekend? That's 18 goals so far this season. As to his work rate how can anyone judge it on the few minutes he got on the pitch. For those that say he's only playing in the Turkish Superleague - well you can only play against those put in front of you!

He is dog s***!

For the benefit of people who keep saying he wasn’t given a chance or barely played any minutes...

8 starts and 12 substitute appearances!!!

He was rubbish, slow, lacked effort, gave away petulant fouls, out fought for a supposed ‘big guy’ and totally ineffective at EPL level.

Sent out on loan for the remainder of his contract by those that saw him in training and worked with him on a daily basis...enough said!

There seems to be a bit of confusion over the contract but from what I can make out he went out on loan with the Turks having the option to buy . This loan though took him to the end of his contract so he signed (I take it as part of the deal ) a one year extension .
So if they don't take up the option (how much ???) Palace will have 12 months to make a decision on him from the end of next season .

I will be glad to be corrected on any of the above

And we still need a striker

The Turkish club has option to buy the player at a cost of €6M. Most probably, they'll negotiate over the price. i read that the club is willing to pay around €4M.

In this league you have to land on your feet ..he didn't, he scored a good goal at Chelsea which should have been allowed (no VAR) and who knows what that could have done for his confidence because nine times out of ten that's the main problem the same could be said for Meyer who scored a perfectly good goal at Southampton, eight starts and twelve subs is nowhere near enough to enable anyone any idea of how a new player is going to cope, we probably caused all his problems with far too much pressure in such a short period of time.
