Shall we start another thread then, condemning the Tory's symbolic aggression towards the notion of free and open discourse, how his actions are indicative of the wider political movement from which he emanates? What do you think of the situation that JMR was intending to speak to a crowd, made of of a cross section of people from the political spectrum, and this was broken up by a bunch of SJW’s, shouting the usual ‘you are a racist, homophobe, misogynist’ and curtailing his right to free speech and destroying the event? If a bunch of right wingers disturbed a McDonnell speech, and called him a misogynist because of what he said about Ester McVey, you would no doubt be up in arms about right wing fascists stopping free speech.

It was a protester who was attacked I assume by a Mogg supporter. The whole 'fracas' seems to be completely exaggerated by the media. TBH the only one who comes out looking good is Mogg himself. You free to start whatever threads you like
I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like. |

See I personally wouldn't go about it in the way they did, but... Do you actually believe that they pose a serious threat to free speech to a man who writes regularly in the Telegraph, appears almost weekly on BBC politics discussion forums, and as we speak is given a free airing by numerous radio and television shows to give his side of the story to hundreds of thousands of listeners? I value free speech, but to my mind we should be fighting to protect it for imported labourers working on contracts which prohibit them speaking out about their conditions, or women forced in to sex work who can't go to the police. Worrying that a hereditary Tory MP who lives in a castle doesn't have sufficient space to air his views is South Park level of farcical.

A good night for the attention-seeking politician. Would like to know who attacked the protestor though and its with the police so we may find out if he was a 'plant', or Daily Mail or just interfering. Its small beer compared with past episodes though and the genuine students did listen to Mr Mogg's address afterwards. No Che Gueveras there then. Mr Mogg making it clear to the government that they must deliver brexit properly on time and to him of course......
