Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot.

Rubbish defence cost a decent chance of winning today. People that were sceptical about Sørloth will have to see atleast some potential now, without a doubt one if not the best today

This is all a smoke screen. The chances are we are going to lose most of the games comming up in the immediate future and will soon be in the bottom three. This however will not mean that we are going to be relegated. Our fight for survival will be when the last six games come round and hopefully we will have a stronger squad available for these matches.. If in the meantime we can pick up the odd point then that will be a bonus. So let’s get real and gird our loins for the final run in. COYP

With optimism like that I wouldn't be surprised if people started accusing you of telling porkies. Here's to a winning streak in the last six games, I think it's possible if we put our backs to it. If it happens I'll be as happy as a pig in...

Well said Sir. Wasted on here though, I am shocked at how many fans just want to roll over give up and just use the situation to moan about the chairman and players they don't like even though these are the ones we need to back to help us survive.

Sadly our form against the teams around us will decide our fate and as it stands we are just not good enough, we have major injuries to our key players, failed to correct this in transfer window and even our very polite Roy is beginning to lose confidence!

Do you find Salmon burns better than trout? If I don't want to keep relighting I fill my pipe with a blend of tench and turbot.

Other teams are still in a worse position

WBA are 7 points behind and Pardew has won like 2 in 20+ games
Huddersfield have lost 5 on trot
Stoke can only beat poor teams at home and have some u teams at their ground coming up. They're goal difference is poor too
Brighton still have avery tough run in

We should be OK if we get enough players back(especially Zaha) for the easier fixtures and don't lose nerve

Hodgson refusing to sub and playing McArthur out of position does worry me though.

BTW how did Ward do? Should he keep his place when Sakho comes back?

Ward played well, esp first half - we made defensive errors and were still in the dressing room for their first goal, but Everton had better players and were a better team - simples. We need to plan for life without Wilf cos without him we are f*cked. £50 mil on Tekkers, Townsend and Cabaye - they're OK but they're just not that good - Everton have lesser names like Ngueye and Davies who are much better players. Keep splurging cash on proven talent to stay up - I'm not sure a club of our current size can keep going this way - need to develop talent more, hopefully we can rebuild in the prem. Desp need Wilf, Loftus-Cheek and Sakho back - we looked a class below Everton yesterday but a class above Newcastle the week before, the returnees should keep us up, but not by that much probably.

Shocking goal to concede.First Tomkins header that was poor and then him and TFM couldn't deal with the ball between them.TFM looks very uncomfortable in central defence.

And Niasse being allowed the freedom of the penalty area to score the second was also poor.It appears that Everton were far sharper latching on to second balls - had more energy than us.

A very bad day at the office.
