I never said it wasn't an investment nor did I say he was doing it for 'fun'. He's a fan as well as a business man & has been quite clear that whilst he is here he wants to try & get the club to realise its full potential - the fact that mistakes get made is far from unusual in any business.

For years now many on here (& elsewhere) have bemoaned our lack of infrastructure & blamed it for all sorts from managers leaving to lack of player development - why cant we be like Southampton, Stoke etc? Well at least there's an effort to get there.

IF the worst was to happen, we'll stand a much better chance of bouncing back than without the changes made.

The mistakes are repetitive and will cost the Club millions in lost revenue, we would have to rebuild from scratch, as the few good players we have would be off, with exit clauses in their contracts being activated on relegation, getting back will never be easy and the lost revenue would mount each season we are out of PL !

Next time some moonbeam comes up with a load tosh like this. Surly it is in the power of the MODS to just send them your response so we can all get back to enjoying the ride the best we can.

Bang on with that passage about the Pardew and De Boer experiment being excusable. Of course it was, then lambast anyone for saying just keep us from being vulnerable in crucial positions. No no, open and expansive football was absolutely fine with the players we had. Sure it was. So mental I can't get over it. Lucky Roy was willing to save our sorry &rses.

Sure let's enjoy the ride, but is it unavoidable to write off blocks of the season due to a project that was in fact to take us to the next level, then rely on saviour no 4,5,6 etc and then claim we shouldn't question the repeated mistakes because we desire the next level when that is a major reason we're in poo.

My post was in response to the OP (Parish unable to progress us). So not sure exactly what you're referring to. No one sane can argue we should have a back up keeper. But some of us do not think that failing to secure certain players justifies the abuse Parish gets. As for needing management saviors...that is a whole different discussion. But not many teams have stable management...Especially in our "league"

So you were just lambasting me then, Aray?

Basic, simple, continual errors will be highlighted when someone is in the public eye, like a football chairman.

If that is abuse, then I am guilty.

When Mandanda was signed, it was for a reason. When Mandanda left, we failed to replace him, that is very poor from the chairman. Window after window we did not address the GK situation, again, very poor. This window our manager says 20 times we need to sign a keeper, we have a long protracted back and forth with Getafe, and at the end of it, we sign the guy IN THE SUMMER. Its comedy. Parish then pats himself on the back for signing a GK in the summer, after the relegation run in.

I dont think you could make that up.

Add in the repeated failures over the years on transfers and managers (hiring mistakes, firing mistakes), and its amateur hour year after year....after year.

Again, if pointing out how poor the performance of the chairman is in these areas in abuse, then I am guilty as charged.

Problem is once you start its like peeling an onion, layer after layer, mistake after calamitous mistake....not firing Pardew....not signing a striker....left back cover....right back cover....cant ever sell any of our deadwood and move them off the wage bill.....Holloway not being fired soon enough....Warnock (wtf)...Now De Boer.

It goes on and on and on.

Is it so hard to understand if some fans would like someone else calling these all important shots? Relegation is a time bomb with these continual mistakes and mismanagement of squad depth going on. We have a chance to establish ourselves in this league but not running things like a mickey mouse operation.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Answering people on twitter with something like 'what if the sun doesn't come up tomorrow' probably wasn't the best way to go about it from his side. Being on twitter probably isn't wise at all.

Nail on the head! Buy this man a pint! Like i said previously there is the "He saved our club" Parish and believe me he dragged that out on purpose to make himself look like our "Messiah". I have been in business for some time and these deals are not done at the last minute trust me.

The other side is the penny pinching small business mindset chairman that has control over every aspect of what happens withing his business. I can imagine he has probably tried to micromanage every aspect from cleaners to first team affairs. I am sorry if some people are offended of criticism of him but I am not a Parish apologist. He is proving himself to be a huge chancer and is gambling our prem status so he can have an extra few quid in his pocket.

Has he done great work? Yes without a doubt.

Do I want him out? No BUT things have to change in the summer with his approach to the club. Some of his mistakes are criminal and are showing that his is an amateur Bromley Barrow Boy who made a few quid back in the day. Approach needs to change or we are just another chancing season away from relegation. I hate to say it but the likes of Burnley are now even ahead of us.

Lots of polarised views about whether Parish is a) Mr Bean or b) St George. Heaven forfend that we should go the way of West Brom and throw the baby out with the bathwater (although it's true that thinking Pardew was worth hiring and Sturridge would stay fit are evidence of stupidity of at least the same order as anything we have seen).

The problem is just the wrong people doing the wrong jobs. That's been addressed to some extent by bringing in Freedman to look at recruitment prospects and helping us identify talent that doesn't cost £30m. He's got the right idea with the signings we have made but the ones we should have made are symptomatic of the problem persisting in the area of completing player transfers and contracts. We've persued the right targets, avoided the duds (Diafra Sakho, Sturridge, looks like Tosun might be a dud too based on Allardyce's latest remarks), but failed to turn enough of those targets into signings and that's happened twice now (granted last time one of the targets was the aforementioned Tosun).

FFS Parish just needs to step away from closing the deals and let someone who's good at it do it. And he needs to do that in good time for the next window and make clear that he's doing that because it will only get harder if other clubs see him as a national joke, a reputation which would seriously damage us and which his other work doesn't deserve.

No need to make it into a pogrom.

If we did come back up, we’d have to go through the first season without any real quality in our side and go through that struggle all over again.

IMO Parish’s only real mistakes have arisen from trying to make us something we’re not on a couple of occasions and having too much ambition rather than too little.

We’ve made a good recovery from such a poor start but there’s the top six and a fag paper between the rest.

It’s not his fault we sh1t ourselves in front of goal irrespective of broader squad issues.

Parish has already proved he is a poor PL chairman just by the number of managers we have had in the period, then there are the half fit players that we bought in, the botched transfers, allowing us to start this season with only one fit striker, the GK that Roy so much wanted in the last not mention other key areas where we were down to our last fit player, the constant inability to make decisions, brokering the deal with the Americans and endless hours and funds reserved for a refurbished stadium which will be half empty in the championship. It's a big if, as to what will happen this season but it's not looking good as our form against those around us is not making full of confidence!

We came up via the play offs after being favourites for relegation to league one and are in our fifth season in the top flight and been not far from winning the FA Cup. Not a bad record IMO.

As I’ve said mistakes been made but not at fault for players missing from two feet. Personally couldn’t give a fvck about the stadium.
