Firstly at least noboby was injured.
Your wife should get at least a couple of days course fee refund as she only lasted until Wednesday and a test fee refunded as well!

I think it's madness that in priciple, someone can take a 7 day intensive driving course at 17 years old, pass their test, then as long as they renew their license every 10 years can then jump in a car 52 years later and take to the motorway.

I think it's madness that in priciple, someone can take a 7 day intensive driving course at 17 years old, pass their test, then as long as they renew their license every 10 years can then jump in a car 52 years later and take to the motorway.

We of the older generation had it very easy. Passing a test now, for riding a bike, towing a trailer, driving a minibus and driving a 7.5 tonner is very tough.

We never had to take an online theory test and were only asked four or five questions on the Highway Code as part of the test.

In those days we had to do a "Three point turn" which if I am not mistaken is now referred to as changing direction using forward and reverse gears or words to that effect.We also had to do reversing around a corner.There was mention of changing the test to make it more relevant to current driving situations but I really don't know if this has been done.

But in our day we never had forward and reverse sensors !

Maybe, I dunno, my old dad back in the day said in the sixties he had to hold the car on the biting point on a hill whilst not driving over two match boxes placed under the front and rear car tyres for five mins. Only then did he pass
