Smith will knock Groves sparko.

His the real deal.

Smiths decent, but you obviously never saw his last fight. Groves is no Rocky Fielding.

“There for the taking”, no mate.
You’ve obviously never sparred. When someone is meant to be a good boxer ‘on the inside’ they need to to get inside the opponents jab, when the opponent has a quick. Spiteful jab, like Groves, it’s a long 36 minutes.
As soon as Eubank felt Groves jab all the bravado f*cked off back to Brighton.
Eubank was poor, bacause Groves made him poor. Too small and with no plan B.

Spot on

This middleweight tournament reminds me of the British Middleweight Golden era of the 1990's. Boxers never swerved a fight, so you had Nigel Benn, Michael Watson, Chris Eubank Snr and Stephen Collins all getting it on, on a regular basis.
None of this Terry Lawless fixing Bruno against fat-@r5ed bums (and losing).

I think boxing, for me, has regained a bit of increased credibility

Probably the biggest myth in boxing, neither eubank or benn wanted anything to do with James Toney, called both of them out numerous times and was recognised as the best middleweight in the world.

That is true but in their defence they could earn more money fighting each other so their was no upside for them to fight Toney or Nunn.

At least Benn did go to America and fight reasonably live opponents and fought Mclennan too.

Watson and Collins fought McCallum, but were found wanting.

You wont find any proper top names on Eubank's record, he was very risk averse.

All four were beatable by someone of real class but were well matched against one another and gave a lot of entertainment.

True - The same went for Roy Jones.

That was a walk in the park for Groves, I had him by a wider margin than the judges and a few quid on him winning by points.

And, (despite Duke McKenzie and Naseem Hamed both saying it wrong all night) it is Eubank. Singular. Anyone who writes or says "Eubanks" and then professes to dissect the fight has already lost my interest.

He needs to go back down to Middleweight and get himself an actual trainer.

I completely understand why and don't blame either but let's be honest, British boxers are hugely overrated, these 2 being by far the worse.

We've had our fair share of world champions but very few that are genuinely the best or have dominated the sport. the best is by far Lennox Lewis, who never captured the British boxing fans due to his amateur career, then it would be calzaghe who dominated a poor division. Haye would of dominated the cruiserweight division but it's a dead weight with no money.

Couldn't be more happy with how healthy the sport is in this country, the pub was as busy as an England world cup game but British fighters don't exactly get it hard. There's literally no other country in the world that would see a fighter ranked no4 in his division having a mandatory, selling out a stadium and being ppv. The sanctioning bodies pretty much chuck titles at us.

I remember when Lennox Lewis was claiming he was Millwall and walked onto the pitch at HT at Millwall's New Den on NYD 1993 when we lost by the usual 3-0. Nobody in the ground was bothered.

I thought he was a pretend West Ham fan. Wasn’t Michael Bent the pretend millwall fan ? I’m sure he was fighting herbie hide who was a Norwich fan and they were trying to drum up some interest.
Saw Adam Booth in my gym (when he was with Haye), was talking to him , asked him about Haye being millwall and he said it was nonsense, Haye didn’t support a football team.

Do you remember Chas 'Bomber' Symonds coming on at HT at Selhurst a few years back?

We were at the same amateur gym down the road from Selhurst many moons ago.

He didn't do much as a pro, could scrap a bit.

Sorry, completely off topic.

He's going to lose but I think he will give a good account of himself, if this was true stand up fighting smiths going to sleep within 2 mins.
