That's what I've been thinking, it seems as though they think he's ready but for whatever reason Sakho doesn't. It may well be genuine but I've got a nagging feeling there might be a little more to it

Quite a call for Roy to dispute Sakho's injury in public, suggests to me Roy is starting to understandably feel the heat. We need people ready to play through the pain for us right now and Sakho doesn't seem to agree.

What's actually been said to make anyone question Sakho's desire to play?

Summary from club Twitter feed - bottom up...

That's it from the boss. Thanks for following. The full video will be available on the app shortly. #CPFC

RH: Mauricio doesn't need to lift a trophy for me to say he's a very, very good manager.

RH: Kane is in great form and he has been for the last couple of seasons. He has all the qualities you need as a centre forward and no particular weaknesses. We have to limit his opportunities because he'll score if he gets enough of them.

RH: Mama's still feeling this calf injury, so we'll have to wait and see. We have to wait for him to let us know he's ready.

RH: Wilf is progressing well, but is still weeks away. It looks as he's much further forward in his recovery than he medically should be at this point. Great credit to the medical staff and Wilf himself.

RH: No returns, but a few more out. We have 12 players out now, 6 or 7 of them first team regulars. Schlupp, Kelly and maybe Ward could be back in the next week or two.

RH: I don't have a points total in mind, I have the hope of a full squad in mind. The depth we had back in October, November.

RH: It's a relegation battle. All of us are aware that one game can take you closer to the middle of the table or closer to the bottom. There'll be a lot of twists and turns, up ladders and down snakes.

RH: We've trained as normal and took the chance to give the players a day off with no game over the weekend. We've been on the pitch all week.

Oh dear. Sakho forever out.

How many credible subs do we have? 2?

On Sakho, Hodgson added: “We thought he was going to be back, but he is still feeling his calf injury–at the moment he is making it clear he doesnt feel confident enough to play.  I’m disappointed in that as I thought we would have got him back after the Newcastle second half when he played so well but it hasn't turned out that way so we will just have to wait and see but its really when he lets us know he's ready. We’ll have to wait and see, and we are waiting for him to let us know when he’s ready."

If Sakho braves it and plays it will only be a minute before he pulls up.

He came back too soon and it would just happen again.

We just have to hope that we don't pickup any injuries the Tottenham game which will see players miss games.

With the injury situation and the games to come we really are in a dire situation and Hodgson seemed somewhat despondent in the Press Conference which is understandable.

I suspect that the number of supporters who believe that we won't survive is growing by the day.Certainly a few people I have spoken to outside the club who felt that we wouldn't be relegated have now changed their opinion.Perhaps Hodgson himself is fearing the worst.

I for one have resigned myself to the fact that we will be in the Championship next season. All very depressing.

If the TFM & Tomkins partnership performs like at Everton then we will be lucky to keep it below three goals conceded. However, with Ward out TFM will probably move to RB and I imagine we might see Delaney? I liked Wan Bissaka in pre-season, but I can't see him being thrown in. Another option would be to play Jach with Tomkins. He seems a very cool character and Eastern European players often seem quite tough, but again it would be a tough debut to come up against arguably the best striker in Europe right now. The most probable scenario is that we will see Delaney, but at his age and having a severe lack of game time I think it would be a mistake as he looks like he's ready to retire now.

I'm usually positive even on the darkest days, but it's hard to see the light for this game with a decimated defence and no Zaha, plus with Kane being in rich form.

This is becoming a nightmare.
Jach or Reidewald at CB with Tomkins - it has to be - I love Damo but how could he possibly cope with the Spurs forward line with no match practice.
Luka could sweep I guess but then we are light in midfield.
You just could not make this up and despite our failings in the transfer windows no one could possibly have forseen this.
Our injured 11 would give Spurs a good game!

This is the fixture Sakho got injured in last season. It’s also the type of fixture that he’s most likely to get injured in again with a strong striker who doesn’t mind putting it about to look after. We’re unlikely to get anything from the game so I’m okay with him resting and getting ready for the next game.

I very much doubt if I am going to be wrong this time.
Dire injury situation, current league position, forthcoming games etc etc. Depressing and then some.
