And I posted at the time that not keeping Murray was a huge error.

And everyone at the club would now agree im sure.

Great interview with Muzza just now on the Premier League Show. Even if it was set in Brighton.
God I miss him! The flick-ons, the runs into the six yard box, the crafty nudges on defenders, drawing fouls to give us breathing space, the passion......how we could have used his goals this season.
Anyway, I'd better shut up before being reminded that "he wanted to leave". Enjoyed wallowing in 5 minutes of self-pity, that's all...

Spot on. If he had been the main striker he would not have wanted to leave, & he deserved to be given the chance to be the main striker.

Where are all the anti Murray brigade now. When I posted how good a player he was last year all The comments I got were, get over it,he's too old,too slow and he wanted to leave. If you can't see how good his all round play is this season playing for Brighton you know nothing about football. He was never given a chance to show what he could do for us in the premiership after being out for a year with that bad injury.Too old I was told although having been out for a year he was effectively a year younger as not worn out playing the previous season.Too my mind he also gained a fraction more pace after his injury as well.
It breaks my heart to see him playing for Brighton now and not us.

Very pleased for Glen if he gets a call up and plays. We don't have many English players in most positions thanks to the mega rich clubs who buy success even if its only one match he has worked for it and good for him, great player and nice guy.

You do all realise he wasn't too good at Bournemouth but a step down to the championship with the sissies on the coast got him in form and performing in the prem with their momentum? Same for Gayle.

A good player who offers so much more than Tekkers at the moment. He will most probably score against us next month, which will be fitting really. Just goes to show what a poor decision Pardew made in this instance and was most probably rubber stamped by SP.

He will get applauded by the Palace fans I am sure, regardless of the shirt he is wearing, shame I cannot say the same thing about Tekkers.

Players leave clubs and move on, it's part of football. This constant harping back to whether he should of been sold or not is pointless.
There is no point keeping a player, who wants to leave, it doesn't work, the players now have the power.
I didn't want Ian Wright to leave, but he did and went on to be the Gooners record goal scorer at the time. Players leave if they want too, regardless of contracts.

The purchases of Wickham and then Benteke certainly didn't look as though they were going to disappoint and Murray didn't want to be on the bench. I know Pardew is an idiot but you cannot deny that and if you wanted Murray as first choice you'd have to have inferior strikers behind him. The idea was to improve the quality, not add inferior players permanently.

It's just not that simple when players' demands are factored in.

I don’t think Murray has ever been an inferior player to Wickham.
Wickham never had a good goal scoring record at Sunderland, Murray did for us.
Pardew wanted to remove the big players in the dressing room, so he could be the main man. Murray, Speroni , Jedinak.
Hopefully the smarmy c*nt gets run over, Pardew not Murray.

I almost agree but for the fact those 3 were ageing st the time. Pardew didn't want to get rid of Delaney, Dann, Zaha, Bolasie, any others? And he wanted big names in like Cabaye and Benteke.

There's also the argument that it's not that Pardew sold players but he didn't replace them or know who to replace them with or how.

I'll also remind people that when he was doing nothing at Bournemouth nobody was saying we should have him back or how we'd made a big error. And nobody saw last seasons Benteke being so shyte this season.

I've been critical of Parish and Pardew as you know but it's not that simple on this one.

Murray was treated badly by Palace, face never fitted in the premier league unfortunately. Top player and a gentleman
