I am curious about how long are we going to have Roy for will he retire at the end of this season or give us another year, who would fill his shoes

I think he will walk at the end of the season. We didnt back him in the window. Its beginning to look like Rakip and Jach were Freedman signings and by not playing them Roy is sending him a message about how he rates them. We needed players who could go straight into the team not to have to prepare them for weeks. If they were good enough they would be in the team by now

Compare this to Brighton who bought striker Locadia and he has got 2 goals for them.

We bought players who hadn't played since November/December and a central defender who cannot get into the matchday squad but Delaney makes it !

We're a f***ing shambles behind the scenes. No manager will stick around if he has decent stock in the football world. Any decent manager we have walks out fter less than a season, i realise Roy is a Palace man and good chap, but he'd be mugging himself off if he stayed on IMHO.

Possibly, equally he may have been promised a decent transfer kitty for the summer as January is historically poor value for clubs.

If he does walk because of transfer policy then we really do have problems.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

I'm not getting involved in that discussion.

I believe that in our parlous position with the threat of relegation highly likely, if not pretty much certain, there has to be some contingency planning.

We cannot just fall off that 'Cliff Edge' when relegation is confirmed and then start planning for the Championship.Let's not forget that the 'Transfer Window' opens early on 9th June so not much time between end of season and the 'Window' opening and it is feasible that a change of manager might enter the equation.

We have to be prepared and be pro-active instead of re-active.

Even Allardyce pretended to retire to get out of our club. Doesn't that say it all...

This is clearly just not the case.

Wasn't there a thread discussing possible replacements if he does go already?

Anyway, as some have said above he won't stick around and why should he? He's not only fighting the relegation battle, but he's fighting the board too. He shouldn't have to be. He's totally alone in his job.

And therein lies the problem, we never seem to be prepared, the transfer window almost seems to take us by surprise every time. I have very little confidence we'll do things any different no matter who we have in charge.

I'd love Roy to stay at least another year, imagine what he could achieve if he was actually backed financially and didn't have the horrific injury list.

Unfortunately for reasons best known to the hierachy he wasn't backed when he needed it the most.
