Just recently started supporting Crystal Palace after being a man utd fan as a child and and Arsenal fan growing up. Dissapointed but we will stay loyal no matter if we get relegated.

What like you did when supporting Man U and Arsenal?

Enjoy the ride mate.

Excuse me.

It's pretty normal for yoof to be seduced by flashy players, brilliant moments of skill and glamorous stars. When they follow their teams week in week out they discover that they can have bad matches, s*** days at the office and embarrassing moments. My 9-yo is currently having this experience with Real Madrid and he will learn that 99% of what a footballer has to do to be any good is hard work, boring, disciplined, chasing balls, closing down, being in the right place, bailing out team-mates and that's just the bit that involves playing in actual matches. He thinks Harry Kane for example is great and would like him at Real Madrid, but this afternoon he saw him miss more than one sitter and nearly drop two points as a result whilst a hard-working and organised defence made him look a bit more human.

Some of them then see overpaid prime donne who consider themselves entitled to the Champions' League trophy and reason that c'est magnifique, mais ce n'st pas le foot.

You have a child who supports Real Madrid.

What kind of parent are you?..

I shouldn't be showing off my erudition, but is that not very close to what was said by a senior French officer around the time of the Charge of the Light Brigade?

Ali was dreadful today and his diving was unpleasant.
Kevin Friend was not on our side.
I was at the game with a Spurs mate and even he said that he thought the ref was a tad biased!

Considering how he was left isolated for most of the time I thought Benteke did well.

He kept winning the knock-ons in the air, but there was no one to feed off them.

I was slightly disappointed by his new strike-partner. He had a couple of good runs with the ball, but some of his passes were very careless and he seems timid ( to the point of non-existent) when it comes to tackling. I’m also looking for a grittier, more determined attitude.

The defence was superb and apart from one fumble early on so was Wayne. The midfield were fighting a losing battle and Benteke should have swapped with Sorloth (looking like a bargain). If we show half of the spirit we showed today for the rest of the season then we will not be one of the three to leave the loadsamoney league. The future looks fairly bright.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
