I totally understand that Parish’s comments have been reported out of context, as he clearly states that this is just contingency. I do however find that by broaching this topic he is completely irresponsible, because the headline splashed all over the media today is Palace preparing for the championship with the inference that we have handed in the towel. I bet our lovely rivals are laughing their collective arses off. We could could have done without this headline at this stage of the fixture run in.

I have a mate who works for one of the broadcasters who was at this event and says that this comment was taken way out of context and the reporting is a country mile away from what was being discussed so calm down a bit. He doesn’t support Palace or any of our rivals and actually said it’s unfair that it’s being reported this way.

Been a slight kick off on twitter.

Talkshyte tweet: ''Palace chairman @CEO4TAG says the club is "planning for the Championship." Is that sensible or negative? 08717223344 with me and Simon Jordan NOW!''

Parish retweets talkshyte tweet and says ''Nothing like taking a comment completely out of context. I was answering the question. Would the stadium development still happen if we were relegated to the championship.''

Fan tweets: ''Imagine Simon Jordan trying to criticise the most successful chairman in our history. We nearly disappeared because of him.''

Jordan: ''Never criticized him ... said he was the most successful ever Palace chairman ... but said if he did say it, it was stupid as it leads to a raft of commentary ... not valid point ... ok I guess not and no you did not nearly disappear I made sure of that.''

I think Parrish and the Yanks (thats a good name for a band) needs to do what Abramovic has done at Chelsea, and just own the club.

They should appoint a chairman with some football nouse and just write the cheques.

Probably best if Steve does what most chairmen do and don't court the media.

Not this season. They've been playing at their highest levels every week since Frank left.

In previous seasons you have a point. Trying to think of when and the Sunderland 0-4 springs to mind when they wouldn't respond, and it taking that result, Parish bursting into the changing room and the team into training at 7am on Sunday for some home truths.

There was an element to this under Pardew for example when we saw Hull walk through our defence but having said that, Pardew's organisational skills were awful.

Actually they weren't responding to Frank so they did let Parish and the fans down then. But there was one small problem. Frank's methods and the unlikelihood of it working meant it was bollox.

Parish really means it's the points that decide our fate this season and it's on the pitch where the players are that decide/earn the points. Not really much else to that part, although he hasn't made their task much better with only Sørloth resembling a prem footballer.

Do you really think Sorloth is the best player at the club, after 2 games?

If the players have been playing to their highest levels since de Boer left, why are half of them slagged off on here most weeks.
Bristol City away springs to mind.

Moral of the story, don’t believe everything you read. In fact, you should probably believe next to nothing that you read.

Did I say that? I meant only Sørloth was any improvement to what we had. The other newbies not aren't.

Bristol city was a cup game and wasn't full strength. There were several peripheral players who showed nothing.

We've been playing close to the maximum most weeks, not much chance to sit out any games for rest and few options from the bench. If anybody, Parish included, think that's sustainable throughout the season then they need to get real.

Jordan is still bitter, he lost the club. I have heard him on Talksport, he likes to think he is relevant and opinionated, but like most media commentators they have all been a failures in the past, now desperate for attention.

Liverpool won the league with 14 players on heavy pitches and 4 more games in the past.

And we’ve stayed up with a squad full of lesser players. More than once.

Not Parish’s fault a few morons will focus on the one comment and if they’re that dense who cares anyway.

The last window was poor and de Boer etc but, if I was getting out of Benteke, Sakho and Cabaye what we are for £300k a week, then I’d be getting blasé about our Premier League status.
