I don't know. Stoke have Shaqiri who finds the net, they have Choupo-Moting who finds the net, they have Diouf who finds the net. Even Crouch and Jese are players who can come from the bench and score.

Who finds the net for Palace if Zaha is out?
Having a good defense is good, but 3 points are better than 1. Gathering points to finish ahead of the last 3 pretty much requires scoring.

Southampton have a lot of good players up front too: Charlie Austin, Carrillo, Tadic, Ward-Prowse, Gabbiadini.

I think these teams are in a better position to hope than us. But we have to fight till the end, you never know. We could do a Burnley and win 7 times with 1-0

After watching Southampton v Stoke, Danny Murphy thinks they'll both survive. So where does that his mate Roy's Palace? Or does he think Newcastle and Huddersfield will drop.

Indeed and thank you for coming back. Some on here can be quite spiteful - and not always in jest sadly, we really should celebrate diversity of views - well all except one!

Just done an analysis on games after this weekend is over, on the basis of the lower 12 clubs still looking over their shoulder, is that despite 31pts Brighton have the most difficult task with 5 of the top 6 to play and with Everton, Leicester & Burnley has left it a tough schedule. By the same token the Hammers have 4 and apart from Palace the others have 3. Palace have 2 after the Man U Match tommorrow. I forecast despite injuries its the best home run of all the others, with some very achievable confrontations. After the Liverpool match on the 1st April, its very dooable?
as the rest have to go to the wire with the stacksofmoulee games. So I'm optimistic 9 to 12 pts will do it from here on in. A point at least from MU will be a bonus Eagles forever!!

The thing with the run in as that we have as good a chance as the opposition in most of remaining games to get points, once you take out the Man utd, Liverpool and Chelsea games. In theory we should also have significant 1st team players back. If we have Zaha, Tomkins, Sakho, Townsend, Cabaye, Luka, RLC and McArthur available, then yes, we are better than at least five of the bottom half teams in my opinion. The big key of course will either be Bentenke discovering some late form, or Sorloth taking up the mantle. Speaking of the new lad, he has only had once proper chance in his two starts so far and even that was a half-chance header, but I think he looks a very cool character which gives me confidence that once he isn't being asked to play wide left he will start to score.

Since Roy has come in we have looked the better team against most of the teams in the bottom half, as well as against the likes of Leicester and Burnley. Why people suddenly think we're terrible because we lost to Arsenal, Spurs and away to Everton seems odd to me. The only reason we're not already comfortable is a failure to take our chances and turn some of our draws into wins. Every player including the new GK are coming out and saying the team spirit is good, which again gives me a lot of hope, as that can be a big factor. Also the whole Zaha thing is not considered in the context of him being out during the early games of the season when we were in chaos and the recent games where we were unlikely to get results anyway. Against smaller teams having two giants up front will not be attractive but it will likely cause problems.

And so completes my essay on why Palace have a strong fighting chance.
