My memory may not be that reliable, but I think I recall most pundits saying we were impulsive to sack FDB so quickly.It turns out getting Roy in was wise. I think the delay in getting rid of Pardew (due, perhaps to the Cup run) was perhaps as problematic for us long-term.

My memory may not be that reliable, but I think I recall most pundits saying we were impulsive to sack FDB so quickly.It turns out getting Roy in was wise. I think the delay in getting rid of Pardew (due, perhaps to the Cup run) was perhaps as problematic for us long-term.

The first seven games were definitely thrown away.....mostly against the weaker teams. That was always going to put us on the back foot. We have a stronger squad but this time around we have had a season of major injuries and poor form to major players. When your 27 million striker scores just 2 goals you aren't going to do well. And I didn't want Frank, then had to be positive rather than negative and then the summer shambles and playing more than half the team out of position. It was a cocktail of shambles, arrogance, naivety, no fvcking good. Good riddance. Managers should respect these jobs, not treat them and people around them with arrogant contempt. Frank would never have done as well as Roy after what we saw. He doesn't realise you almost start again as a manager. COYP
