Yes, forgot about that, and the giving liverpool our european place when we finished third and they were banned was another injustice!

And while were on the subject of the fa cup final, giving united 24000 tickets and us only 14000, just cos they are a bigger club was a disgrace, specially cos we could have sold four times that amount easily, shows how corrupt things were, and clattenberg hugging sir alex before the last final wasnt the greatest omen to what was in store!

If I remember correctly at the start of that season UEFA said Liverpool were banned for a further season so all clubs new that if Liverpool finished above them it didn't matter. Then at some point during the season Liverpool sorry I meant UEFA decided they could qualify. Since when has football changed the rules mid competition?

That’s exactly what happened, they changed it during the season, we were 2nd at one stage as well and went up to Anfield and lost 3-0 and went 3rd, but we still thought we’d be ok. But they couldn’t possibly have little old Crystal Palace taking one of only two European places could they???

Hardest defeat is the FA cup final a few years ago, would have traded premier league football to win that. Seriously!

I'm really despondent about the Man U game. At 2-0 up we should have done better. Our defending was shocking and we didn't take some gilt-edged chances.

I remember all the other Man U games too - the three finals. The cup game when they got away with killing our fans and wouldn't reschedule. Man U are scum. I'm still angry.

I’m with you, and I bet you ask any Wigan fan, they wouldn’t have swapped their fa cup win to have stayed up!!

Yep. The Cup Final replay was the worst for me. I was resigned to losing the recent one so it didn't hurt that much. Losing to Southampton in the '76 semi was also awful.
The Charlton game when we went down has to be up there as well.

I’ve never seen it on tv once. Was there on the day but I’ve Never felt the need to put myself through it again. Seeing us win at Wembley in the semis was good though.
