We have to play Wilf. He is too important to us and our results. This is a game from which we need points so to not play your best player would be madness. Sure they may kick him about but are we saying then that Liverpool and all the other teams we have until the end of the season won't?

If I was our manager, I would be mentioning the Huddersfield tactics to the media at every opportunity, repeating that Wilf was kicked so badly he was out for 6 weeks and how little protection he receives from referees. Keep repeating it and perhaps referees will, even subconsciously, start to take notice.

I agree that he is unlikely to start on Saturday.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

This. This is a huge game. If they beat us they are 7 points ahead of us, if we win were one point behind them. Not to start with wilf would bd madness and give them a huge psychological boost.. get 2 goals up then take him off.

There are dirty tactics that don't result in suspensions for players. Often you hear silly things like let's kick them off the park but knowing our luck that results in red cards for us and ruining our season even more.

However, if like someone else mentions, Roy gets in the ear of the media about the thug-like tactics on Wilf in the reverse fixture and urges the Referee to take note it will no doubt get in the ear of the Ref.

Then on the day if he gets kicked off the ball just ask Luka to run over there and scream the point loudly. Luka should be able to get away with this as he is Captain. It of course helps that Luka is also our toughest player and hopefully he can scare the Huddersfield players into thinking twice.

You see people like Rooney get away with this all the time and it always seems to be 'good ol' Palace' that happily let things go and play squeaky clean by the rules.

Now isn't the time to win fairest team in the League, we want to stay in the league, let's be the annoying pests for once if it helps.

Reading over the match report from our corresponding fixture versus Huddersfield at the start of the season, as well as eye-witness accounts, there was no doubt that Wagner's men came with the intention of roughing up Zaha and they were ultimately successful. They took every opportunity to injure him.

This coming Saturday, Wagner will WITHOUT DOUBT issue the same command to his players - and you could understand it. If we lose Zaha to another injury he will likely miss the remainder of the season and vastly increase our odds to get relegated, perhaps at their expense.

Knowing what we do about Roy - who was not in the hotseat at the opening fixture - he will play a strong team and likely start Wilf.

It seems inevitable that Zaha stands a BIG chance of injury and with referees disinclined to protect him, what do we do!?...

Personally think Wilf will be protected and they'll end the game with 10 men and throughly beaten...

He will start 100%. Massive game, he’s our best player. I was surprised at how sharp he looked against Chelsea considering he’s been out for a while.

Hope Roy has a quiet word with the ref before the game. The worst thing Wilf can do is rise to it and get the crowd on his back. He just needs to take the hits on the chin and not react. Some of our tougher lads will need to stick up for him and give some back.

It seems that they were just as dirty this time but we were just too good for them.

They picked up three yellow cards to our two but according to the BBC we committed more fouls than they did

But committing fouls and trying to injure your opponents are two different things.

That's the reason why you need a manager who knows what he is doing.
All they had to do at Selhurst was kick Wilf. No one else posed any threat the way Frank Dick Boer set up.
