Two players in Garth Crooks team of the week - Tomkins and Luka!
Not bad for a relegation haunted side.
Apparently Luka was really ill on the Friday overnight but insisted on playing despite that - proper bloke and as I have said many times before - the new Jedi!

A true hero in my eyes.

Call me a misanthrope (or a cantankerous old b******), but if on Saturday morning Luka felt recovered and well rested, then he wasn't making any sacrifice by playing. If, on the other hand, he felt tired and still a bit queasy, then he was being selfish and irresponsible by making himself available. Judging by his performance he felt perfectly all right.

Jeez - really - I will call you a misanthrope because that is polite.
If you spent all night puking up and more you would feel pretty rubbish but him being a proper man said he wanted to play and the staff obviouly felt he could as well as they needed him to play.
He then went out and played 95 minutes of Premieship football and scored a goal despite him feeling like crap and yet you feel the need to be picky about it.
Give me a proper fan any day of the week rather than a "misanthrope"!!

You seem to have allowed your high regard for Luca - which I fully share - to leave you unwilling to accept a totally fair point. If we'd lost to Huddersfield and it emerged afterwards that one of our players had had little or no sleep and was in considerable discomfort with a tummy bug, that player would have been lambasted - quite rightly in my opinion. But we're all entitled to our own view.

But we didn't lose, he was magnificent, took a fine penalty and he had been sick all night, mmm, thats the man for us.
