Not sure of how Common land gets re-designated (even if it can), but I do know when the council wanted to add indented bus stops along Commonside East that was a hell of a long process and consultation. Like we had years ago, almost everywhere. Now the roads are flushed straight, as soon as a bus stops where it needs to, more often than not the rest of the traffic behind has to too.
I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think. |

As it happens the roads in question are festooned with speed bumps, chicanes, abandoned Fiestas and idiots on the wrong side of the road, so you can't really do more than about 15 anyway. I think obligatory 20s are a newish thing, a city-wide 20 (30km/h) limit was trialled a few years ago in Graz, Wuppertal and some other places and was found popular, so has been rolled out elsewhere. Driving faster than 20 in Glasgow is quite hard except on the motorways (and even then not in the peak hours), and driving at all in Edinburgh at all is more or less impossible.

I thought buses run down Purley Downs Rd, therefore I would of thought under the jurisdiction of TFL.

I have never driven in London, I only learned after I came up here. But the 20 limit was only meant to apply on urban roads, but also main thoroughfares provided they were actually built up. So the Mad Mile for example would remain mad.
