Question is, do we keep him and add to the squad another quality striker or strikers with him still here to fight for his place? Or do we get rid and have to spend on his replacement as well as the additional strikers we need? It’s a tough one.

Is that not like saying that Hennessey is poor at stopping the ball going in the goal, but his kicking is ok ?

A number 9s job is to score goals. Klinsmann, muller , Lineker scored loads of goals and did little else.

His kicking is extremely good isn’t it? And with both feet too.

Hennessey is ok. Good enough for many prem teams.

Benteke is not fit to manage the cones in the car park .

Absolutely NOT.

Saw him play for Middlesbrough v Wolves the other day.Scored a goal but overall did not impress me.

If they had played for Palace they would of course have got slaughtered on here for being lazy and overpaid for not running around enough

Football is a game of opinions. In my opinion the criticism of Benteke is sadly a reflection of how little people get the game.

For our formation to work we need a big man up top. Benteke is a very good target man. He wins most of his aerial duals and gives oppposition central defenders a head ache all afternoon.

Now, the reality is he is having a terrible season in terms of converting (the very few chances) presented to him during a game. He's also suffered from the fact that there has been little competition this season for his place. Trust me, if we still had Frazier Campbell coming on for cameos you'd truly appreciate his value.

Will Benteke come good again? I actually think he will. It's time to get behind him. This lust for a headless chicken to be running about up top 'putting a shift in' is nuts. There's a reason Calvin Andrew plays at Rochdale.

Worth noting too that out of the top ten leading goal scorers only one (Jamie Vardy) plays in a team outside the top six. This proves that chances are at a premium for teams like ours. Rather than dig the bloke out we should get behind him.

For a striker with just two goals he gets ENORMOUS support, his winning of atrial duels does not make up for the many pathetic misses of in many cases easy chances, "Trust You" you ask, i don't think so.

It’s a fair comparison though. Like for like as one has to score goals and the there has to stop them. If neither are doing this then how can one be judged okay and the other useless?

I would have the Benteke of last season all day long. Not sure whats happened to him this season. Bamford isn't premiership standard. Benteke can be and has been. Just not happening for him at the moment unfortunately.

Hahahaha, how did i miss this post?!! If placed at 45 degrees in front of goal i believe you could be right.

I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think.

The Palace striker disease is spreading - Gayle missed two sitters yesterday and was subbed early and Murray missed a penalty which would have put the weed in the lead.

What do you make of this “abuse” that Benteke is getting PZ?
