The bigger problem is that with endless large scale immigration comes endless integration or the lack of it.
Even if people become Anglicised after several generations, there is always a large queue of those who aren't right behind them. Perpetual chaos.

I use to believe the 'Anglicised' lie.

In reality it's a minority percent who view themselves as British without any qualifying statement...I mean look at questionnaires and the options.... and then an even smaller percent who view themselves as English.

With some groups we have had immigration since WW2.....yet only partial integration...as stated above.

Essentially it differs between groups but the one constant reality of long term large scale immigration is that the host country slowly loses its national consciousness.

Basically we were lied to....and we wanted to believe the lie.

As someone who works in the area, I can assure you that, unlike what breitbart and guido tell you, it is still England.

One only has to look at the US to see how integrated it isn't after a couple of centuries of foreign arrivals. Unsurprisingly, the original English settlers consider themselves to be Americans but the other large groups, Africans, Italians, Irish and Chinese still wish to retain their identities after a century or more. Don't get me started on organised crime.

Just look at how London has changed in the past couple of decades. Local libraries have closed, local shops, local cafes and community centres. Public toilets, public benches, public water fountains are pretty much a thing of the past. They have been replaced by replica chain stores, high level security systems and empty flats.

What that signifies, in my eyes, is a culture going backwards. It is the death of community and the corporate colonisation of where we live. It symbolises the cavernous gap between the power off the wealthy and the power of independent voices in our society, something which goes against our society's recent history, and which no one voted for and many are voting angrily in response to.

And yet you blame immigrants. Mainly, you blame poor, disenfranchised immigrants, such as pakistanis, who actually propped up many of the local services and shops which made living in London so vibrant and desired.

Before you go worrying about other cultures, I suggest you go and see what we are doing to our own culture. We are turning it in to a faceless, profit-driven monster.

What you describe still exists in many second and third world countries around the world. I know where I'd rather live.

The "profit-driven monsters" that gives you the iPhone in your hand and the Nike trainers you are wearing.

I actually agree with your observations but I also blame corporate greed and politicians for the effects of mass immigration and not the immigrants themselves.

It is odd that you criticise some elements and not another. It's like you have a deliberate blind spot for the real reasons behind mass immigration and the damage that it will do to our social cohesion but are happy to highlight other negative changes.

These aren't the things which make life worth living though.

Our culture has traded in authenticity for an image of authenticity. Out has gone a local cafe, in its place, a cafe that tries to feel local, but is instead one of dozens, owned by a company which can afford to pay business tax and rent to exist on the high street.

Out have gone community centres, they have been replaced by pret a mangers displaying signs saying how much they do to help communities.

Out are going public spaces, replaced increasingly by places which look public, but are actually private with surveillance surrounding them.

We are losing community and replacing it with isolationism. No one voted for it, many are suffering because of it. And Tommy ain't gonna do anything about it.

England is principally for the English....the hint is in the name.

Without a majority of English people within it.....it is no longer England. Demographics matter.....apparently to the brain washed this is controversial.....yet not for other countries.

Tell me Serial....Do you think Tibetans have a right to Tibet? At what point does Tibet become Chinese due to immigration?

Is there a right to a Tibetan culture...a Tibetan homeland.

Without Tibetans being the majority......it no longer exists.

The English need to be a majority in England.

Birth demographics and immigration and multiculturalism are well on the way to turning the English into a minority in their own country.

the Costa Del Sol is now very very English. With very low levels of integration to the surrounding cultures. Ask the local spaniards how they feel about the wholesale colonisation ?

I really don't understand this comment. What is English. This country has had thousands of years of immigration. Celts, Saxons, Vikings, Normans, Hugenouts,Irish, Eastern Europeans in the late victorian age, commonwealth and then most recently from the accession countries of the EU. (Whilst 'the English' as a nation have emigrated all over the world - destroyed hundreds of idigenous peoples and cultures).
Are YOU arbitarily drawing a line at some point in time and defining English: King Arthur, Norman invasion, Bubonic plague, 1723. I really don't understand what you mean by English. Your idea of English is clearly different from mine so why is yours the right one? Or is it that, like Tommy Robinson and Britain First, just the darker ones with funny accents that you don't like?
Secondly I would love to know which bits of English Culture you think are under threat. I own my own culture and it is within myself to maintain it. that is what culture and tradition is - no one can take that away from me. It is mine. So how is your culture under threat from any one? My traditons are partly handed down to me from my parents and family and partly inherited from my environment. I celebrate my culture and treasure it. It can't be threatened. If there are bits of your culture that you value, embrace it and celebrate it and it will survive.
It makes me laugh when the right wing nuts go - oh England is a Christian nation - and most of them have not been to Church in years and have no idea what being a Christian is about. Dick heads fighting a faux religeous war against Islam - whilst not even understanding what being a Christian is about. Oh Tommy Tommy! Dickhead.

You are totally wrong about the meaning of Gammon.

The term refers to older middle aged (admittedly mostly white but not exclusively) men (always) that work themselves into a lather as seen on Question Time. The original meme was the infamous "wall of gammon" (attached) which were all Question time audience members mid rant. They are NOT working class- but tend to be all sorts. I would say that many are Tory middle class types - often Parish council, Church Warden types. Also pub bores and UKIP fruitcakes. But 100% they cannot be described as "White Working Class".
The usual source of their puce faced indignation is Brexit - but can also be "Political Correctness gone mad" and "Bloody Jeremy Corbyn".
I have been using the term for a couple of years and find it extremely useful and ridiculously funny. The main source of the humour being that Gammon nearly always live up to their stereotype.

Tommy Robinson marchers are NOT Gammon. They are just f***ing racist dickheads.

You are a liar.

Gammon refers to the reddening of the skin after exposure to the Sun is is plainly seen only in whites.

It's a British form of the word 'redneck'.

It is a racist term against the white working class and just confirms that the biggest racists out there are the far left.
