I think Goldsmith made this point. It's a valid one. Of course he was of course wrongly damned by both politicians and media. Whenever he is brought up he's referred to as having run a racist campaign.

Apparently bringing up the realities he did was unacceptable. To me it just shows how fecked this country is and how social cohesion is only going to worsen.

We need a right wing broadcaster in this country because the right wing voice has been silenced by the left on the TV. The BBC lies about being impartial and the Tory party under May has become like some kind of social justice feminist movement.....which is a joke to its grass roots.

Apart from Sky News- which pushes the Murdoch, right wing agenda. And what about the overwhelmingly right wing press? And are you actually suggesting that the current hard right policies of the Tory party are now right wing enough?! The Tories are throwing a few liberal bones about social justice, but their other policies have shifted far further to the right than they were 5-10 years ago.

The Tory Party under Cameron was centre right, mostly- now its a hard right party with one or two centre right policies

apart from banging on about gay rights ( which i broadly agree with ) , Cameron was all about the status quo , no change and keep all the usual suspects in a position of privilege.

certainly not a right wing visionary with any populist mandate nor a representative of the common working man seeking a fairer world where workers fare better than shirkers.

Not sure I’d agree with that. Europe: Centre, Fiscally: Hard right re: benefits but tax increases recently have affected the middle classes to the benefit of the working classes (eg buy to let and stamp duty). Plus some big increases, and more to come on minimum wage. Public sector pay undoubtedly hard right but more recently seen a softening of that stance, plus fiscal stance in general. Environmentally, undoubtedly not hard right with recent suggestion on plastic bottle tax.

So, fairly balanced in my view. What policies are you referring to?

?

You very obviously don't watch Sky News.

It used to be a right wing broadcaster now it isn't....you obviously don't watch it. Here's a link to a piece by Sky News which gives favorable treatment to Antifa.

[Link]

Murdoch does not own Sky.....where have you been?

As for pointing out the right wing press, well firstly they don't have a monopoly like the left have with TV and secondly the newspapers have far less reach than TV does......You are comparing apples with oranges.

My statement that the right do not have a voice on TV is correct and your post is outdated nonsense.

As for stating that May leads a hard right party? The women who calls herself a feminist and voted remain and speaks of 'burning injustice' and commissions reports on diversity and equality.....you're living in the land of make believe aren't you?

The Tory still contains right wing people in it....yeah and the grass roots is still the same...apart from the blue rinsers who gave us plonkers like Cameron.

But it's led by a feminist for crying out loud and you must be living under a rock.

I was quite happy with Sky News when it was the only right leaning broadcaster out there. Now there isn't one TV broadcaster with a right wing voice....they all look to the Independent and the Guardian for their headline stories and their take on them.

I dropped being left wing as I entered my twenties nearly thirty years ago, which is around about the time Sky started.

Sky became the run of the mill lefty broadcaster around about the time Murdoch made Sky News independent around five to ten years ago....I can't remember exactly when.

Besides, I still retain some of my original liberal values....I just grew up.
