I swear this correlates with them giving free London wide travel to under 18s.

It might well correlate but I think it's a red herring. A bit like politicians blaming social media. These might be the easiest means to an end but if they didn't exist this postcode gang problem wouldn't disappear.

Isn't as daft as it first sounds.

I agree that blaming social media isn't the right path but it's certainly a platform where this stuff starts or escalates rapidly.

Well before then you wouldn't travel half way across London, at your own expense to sort out some beef you have with someone you don't even really know. The same goes with the messages being sent via social media, you can get into rows with people you simply wouldn't have ever come across in the past.

If fact 20 years ago people of that age wouldn't have even had a phone, never mind social media/instant messages.

They're not going half way across London though. Take the CR7 vs CR0 thing that saw the lad get killed in Thornton Heath. They're often groups that live a few roads or blocks apart and can't help but cross another gang's 'turf' when going about their business.

I agree that social media has accelerated things but it's still the same beefs amongst the same groups that live next to each other.

In plenty of cases they are. I'd say in more than half of these incidents they're not even from the same London borough.

Why young black men? Why not any other group?
Irish?
Jew?
Indian?
White?
Chinese?

Why is it young black men... here in the UK... or in the USA.

Are there cultural problems we’re too scared to talk about?
Out of my black friends at school, I was the only one with 2 parents in full time work. I know adoption agencies have real trouble placing black kids with black parents. Are we approaching a time where we just accept a link between young black men and crime?

For me... I want to see young black men held to the same standards as young Asian/White/Jewish/etc men... black parents need to up their game... no more excuses.

The releasing of the above, is directly responsible for atleast two murders, possibly four.

Why is there such a problem in London. Numerous factors I think personally, wouldn't say it's just one reason.

Young kid + no dad + poor mum = Idolises drug dealers.

A lot comes down to parenting imho, if your parents ensure you're on the right road, it's much harder to deviate. Saying that, I know plenty of people with fantastic home lives that were just dying to be w***ers. Horses for courses I suppose.

From experience, that's inaccurate. The post you quoted is so much more likely. People who've been to school together killing each other because as said, one's from Croydon/waddon etc and the others from Thornton Heath.

People in Peckham don't wake up one day and think come on boys, let's head over to Highbury and see who we can stab lol.

No but they might have some social media spat with some gang from off Lewisham high st or boroughs west of Lewisham and then someone gets set on.
