What is/ makes an established Premier league team

The bottom 3 now are what you would have called established premier league clubs before this season,we are in our 5th season and 4th from bottom. Apart from the top 6,the rest of us every year talk about 40 points to safety. Look at the championship and see who is there,many would have been an established club in the Prem So the question.......... is in the title.

money plays a big part chelsea and man city are there for that reason, spurs not to sure think history with them,the rest of us its down to whether we can keep our best players, no injurys, and hopefully good youth team to back us up, and a good manager

I don't think it's just about the number of years you've been in the Prem, it has to be the next rung up from a relegation scrap each year. If you're established, you don't have that fear of being sucked into the bottom three for large parts of the season. Ah the comfort of mid table. Now I know that it only takes a few points to get to that position at present but there are teams a lot more comfortable than us about it.

It's all down to money as if the club has sufficient financial resources they can buy their way out of trouble

Probably 6th in the money stakes but that can change with the new ground and if they make the CL every season. The top 6 have much more money and Everton aren't poor. There's Leeds who could've been but we know what happened there.

But this was Southampton stoke and even Bolton back in the day. Eatablished it seems now only means top six

It would be difficult to imagine one of the top 6 being relegated (probably only margining more likely than Leicester winning the premier league!). But for the rest of us there will always be a bad season every so often that will see us relegated.

Yep, there’s no such thing as permanently established, outside the mega rich. You can have a long stay in the league but you won’t always have a better squad than the relegation threatened teams, when they can afford the same sort of signings as you.

you can google who has never been relegated from the prem. ManUre, Chelscum, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham.
Everton were in big trouble before Big Sam rescued them. loads of massive clubs that all know relegation...even ManCity. Newcastle, Leeds, Sunderland, etc etc. As for us, its not really a case of if but when. Do another ten years in the Prem and wow, what progress that would be. There must be forty teams or more that have been in the prem at some point. Even lowly Blackpool. we can start to expect to survive when our resources, infrastructure etc matches the 6 clubs mentioned at the top. In fairness, our hinterland of a fanbase is world class, surely better than that of Everton ? More earning power in the audience than that at Barcelona or Real madrid. Earning power = revenue.
