From my lofty corner of the Arthur, I thought the ref was excellent. Luca and the Brighton no 5 could both have gone, but the concept of keeping all 22 on the field in a feisty derby clearly hasn't been consigned to history. It never got out of hand today, so I'd credit him with keeping control.

We won...why whinge?

I sort of agree. Very difficult to not send people off today mainly by way of two yellows and other than a couple of strange decisions he did pretty well.

It's fair that refs like to keep all 22 players on the pitch. And that football is still a contact sport, BUT...how come Marriner not take action against Stephens (after early booking) and Dunk that repeatedly committed yellow card sins? Maybe felt sorry for the weeds due to the amazing atmosphere? Watched game on Thai TV. Thailand is a funny country, but their coverage by True Vision of Premier League is top top. All games live with English commentators). Still buzzing, but the game certainly lived up to Brian Clough's book "Game of two halves".

HE should’ve been sent off. But we got what we wanted.

To be fair Luka could have gone in 1st half. Booked for throwing ball away then a cynical trip in their half (probably what saved him)

Luka thought he was in trouble after the trip because he had his head in his hands. Ref decided to be generous and not send him off. I think that was why he didn't send anyone else off either.

The right place at the right time

I think refs have to balance the game. Marriner gave Luka another chance which is why Stephens got a second chance also.

Every official missed Dunk’s cynical challenge on AT. That looked quite nasty. Got the ball, but completely took out the man.
