They sound very similar to me. Stingray a bit truncated maybe. Gerry could have sued himself for plagiarism. A bit like Dennis.

Actually having ruminated I would say the undoubted best ever genius bit of theme music was the original Doctor Who - Ron Grainer I believe but it was a collaboration and I think Deidre Derbyshire had a part in it. And Ron Grainer wrote the Prisoner theme and tons of other stuff. Somewhat unheralded.

and he wrote the theme for Steptoe & Son and it's Delia (not Diedre) Derbyshire.
