Their players were distraught after the game; they know they're in for a really fraught run in now...and to think that they'll probably want us to win against teams around us to help them out....oh the ignominy! Hahahah

A shame we don't have Stoke the last day of the season with us safe.

When we stay up and Stoke go down I wouldn't mind us going in for Saido Berahino, a gamble but he shouldn't cost much and is a talented player could be a real coup.

Is the same Berahino that earns £75,000 per weeks and hasn't scored a goal for two years?

From the same stable as Benteke.

If I were a football chairman, I wouldn't touch a proven striker with barge pole - for a club like ours it never works, as we'd be purchasing a striker on the decline side of their career.

We just get bummed for high fees / wages.

Our best strikers: Bright, Wright, AJ, Morrison, Freedman - all acquired from lesser leagues & were improving when they joined Palace.

I'd be scouting properly for the next big thing - maybe Sørloth (I hope).

If he's hungry and wants to come - he's exactly the kind of player we need. Think Hughes has undermined his confidence. Didn't Wilf shag his girlfriend or summat?

Stoke does not need to go down to get him. We can probably get him on a “free” but would stay away. Clearly has an attitude problem. Only worth the gamble on a very low basic salary with big add ons. Pay him by the game/goal scored but that won’t happen.

Played 28 games for Stoke and no goals, what a great coup!

What? Are you suggesting Benteke and Berahino are alike? Berehino is apparently a little t*sser. He aggravated for a move, acting like a spoilt child, and then once he got it he had made himself so out of form from his lack of playing due to his protest that he's been terrible. He turns up late for training and has been in front of club disciplinary panels more than once.

While Benteke has had a poor season in terms of scoring, he is by all accounts a really lovely bloke and works really hard.

He's had moments of poor forture and poor form, but he's still done plenty in build up play and contributed towards winning games. He's also done a fair amount of dirty work defending set pieces and the like.

The penalty miss was really frustrating, but at least he was trying something positive to get himself a goal and some confidence.

There is nothing to suggest he hasn't got the ability or work ethic to get 15 goals next season and he's still a decent age. A summer off might do him some good, and a season where he's not the only striker and is being heaped with so much pressure might help too.

Berahino would not be a good buy.

Hence the could be genius, if he comes in cheap and fulfils his potential that would be a coup.
