We've been extremely lucky over the past 2, 3, 4 weeks with the results from other teams. Our relegation rivals have almost always drawn when playing each other, and lost or drawn playing others.

I'm still worried by a late season run from a couple of the bottom teams.

Stoke came out flying today with huge crowd support, and Burnley was lucky to get the draw. I imagine the same atmosphere when we play them in 2 weeks.

Out best chance is to take care of business this week with Leicester at home. If we lose that game, Stoke will be a hornets' nest. We always have West Brom at home on the last game to fall back on. But I'd be worried if we needed a result against them on the last day. We pulled it off last year against Hull, but I don't want to risk it again.

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

It's ridiculous that we are in such a strong position after the run of 7 games no wins no goals.

That highlights just how good our squad is. It's crazy we couldn't get 1 win at the start of the season (Huddersfield or Burnley for example) that would give us the 3 points we need now to be no where near relegation.

I hope Parish and Co have learnt their lesson. Yes, in September you might think you can start an experiment with a foreign Manager trying to change the DNA of the club and if it doesn't work out you have enough time and games go sort it out but that's just not the case with this League.

Parish is very, VERY lucky we are where we are now and he and the Investors will come out unscathed. But if he hasn't learnt his lesson we will go down sooner or later.[/quote]

Give it a rest, bleating on about how Parish is lucky. We are going into our 6th season in the toughest league in the world, with a new stand approved to upgrade the stadium and all you do is moan.

Love this bit in particular.

If I were a Southampton fan I would be pissed because they should have been challenging the top 6 but they sold all of their talents.

Is it too complex for you to understand people can do good and bad things either with intent or by mistake and it's okay to criticise even if you support what they have done in other cases.

Parish And co (I'll always add and Co because I feel the man gets a lot of blame like he's the only one involved) messed up big time with De Boer and nearly cost us our Premier League status.

Yes they fixed it in a way by getting Roy in but he has arguably over-performed and worked a minor miracle, we should be down.

All I'm saying is as long as they have learnt from this mistake it will make them better Leaders in the future and hopefully steer us right from now on. If next season Roy has walked because of lack of transfer funds or because he wants so and so striker but Dougie Freedman the Director with no experience has signed a 16 year old from the Finnish League then I think we will be in major trouble.

Feel free to disagree and state your point without turning to insults unless of course you're a dickhead with the internet.

You cant help yourself having a dig at people with far more knowledge than you. Do a bit a research and find out the players that Dougie brought to the club that got us promoted in the first place.

Do too well and this can happen. And it’s not a new phenomenon.

I agree. Can't see Saints being so poor again next season. However as long as it's not us I don't care who it is at the end of the day. Brighton and/or Huddersfield plus the 2 promoted clubs that aren't Wolves will be favourites for relegation I imagine, plus Swansea if they don't go down.

Agreed on Stoke. I still expect either them or Soton to climb out. One plus for us is the hammering Swansea took yesterday and Huddersfield’s goal difference. We’re almost in the situation where we have an extra point compared to those two now.

Can see 36 and goal difference being the cut off.

Don't agree Burnley were lucky to draw, in the second half they were all over Stoke and it was only down to Jack Butland that they didn't win.

I just don't get this, based on what? They aren't just going through a bad patch, they have been toilet all season.

Swansea have to play them both and have done well since they changed manager - yesterday aside.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

West Ham could easily fail to get a single point between now and the last day, and given they play Man City and Man Utd could end up with significantly worse GD than us going into that game. If we get 3 more points I can see them and Huddersfield being virtually unable to catch us, along with Stoke and West Brom going into the last game, irrespective of Southampton and Swansea.

Having watched Man City yesterday, given they have no other distractions, I can see them winning all their games about 5-0. They keep the ball so well and have the players to create and convert chances multiple times every game. Given they are playing West Ham, Huddersfield, Brighton and Southampton I certainly hope they will be turning on the style for the rest of the season!

It's worth noting that Man City are able to set the records for most wins (they have 29 and the record is 30), points (95, they have 90) and goals (103, they have 98 ). I hope they do it.

Correct me if I am wrong but if Stoke lose to Liverpool on Saturday at the 12:30pm k/o then regardless of our result they can't catch us unless they beat us 5-0 then beat Swansea 3-0 and we dont pick up another point.

That then just leaves Southampton who can then catch us but before they catch us, Swansea, Huddersfield & West Ham would be caught first as they are below us.

It would take a real set of bizarre results now for us to be caught.

The fact that Swansea still have to play Stoke & Southampton means the 3 teams below us somewhere will be dropping points if not all of them if they draw that the leaves Swansea with Chelsea & Bournemouth to play.

Plus we will get another 3 points between now and the end so I dont really understand all the panic.
