Correct me if I am wrong but if Stoke lose to Liverpool on Saturday at the 12:30pm k/o then regardless of our result they can't catch us unless they beat us 5-0 then beat Swansea 3-0 and we dont pick up another point.

That then just leaves Southampton who can then catch us but before they catch us, Swansea, Huddersfield & West Ham would be caught first as they are below us.

It would take a real set of bizarre results now for us to be caught.

The fact that Swansea still have to play Stoke & Southampton means the 3 teams below us somewhere will be dropping points if not all of them if they draw that the leaves Swansea with Chelsea & Bournemouth to play.

Plus we will get another 3 points between now and the end so I dont really understand all the panic.

Remember this is in the Champs League sandwich for the Scousers. Can't see Klopp putting out all the big guns, particularly if it is tight or needing something for the 2nd leg. Tough game but not insurmountable for Stoke. Of course if we run over the Foxes ourselves then we are home. Leicester don't have much to play for and the mood music coming out from them is they are experimenting for next season. With home advantage over Stoke think we have a good chance to have them out of sight by next Sat eve. COYP !!

Wilf won’t be going. He’s even said so himself. We’ll strengthen and have a decent steady season next year.

Amen to that. I know Palace is a roller coaster but it would be nice for one season to start with a Manager who has the players he wants and we don't spend the season flirting with relegation.

Oh well after 50 years of hurt it will happen one day.

Without knowing much about them, I'd find it hard to believe that 7th is a realistic target next season. They'd need to be able to buy about 6 or 7 top Prem class players and that would cost a fortune.

I've never known them as a spending club.

Yep. Chinese owner who has got one of the so called super agents as a mate/advisor. They've spent over 15m on a single player and have several people in their squad who have come from Champions League teams.

Well dodgy.

While I think they'll stay up, I really hope that Steve Bull's comments that "we'll finish top 10, easy." bites them on the arse.

Spot on. He's already gone through a rough stint at ManUre so won't move to the likes of Spuds for the same treatment. Also we threw away the first 7 games this season, will be far more steady as you say next season.

Well, looks like we're alright !

A sort of cause for a mini celebration if we beat Leicester on Saturday.

We're not mathematically safe, but more or less safe, with 3 games to go.

Very happy.

Yeah those quotes delighted me too. But I also read quotes to the effect of 'I can't think about a transfer now because that would distract me from the job at hand.'

So it could be argued it's in the back of his mind as he could equally have just replied 'not interested'.

I'm not saying he'll go but there's nonetheless a chance somebody will make us and him an obscene offer.

Wilf would get fouled less and more referee protection at a bigger club, too. And a better chance of winning stuff. And perhaps more lucre.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Chelsea are 8 points behind Liverpool with a game in hand. Liverpool lose and Chelsea win along with their game in hand and suddenly they will be nervous. They can rest some players but can't afford to balls up the league

Although it is possible for Stoke or Southampton to go on a run, I am taking some comfort in the form guide for the last 5 games

CPFC 8/15 pts
WH 5/15
Hudd 5/15
Swans 3/15
Stoke 2/15
B'ton 2/15
South 1/15

I just don't get this, based on what? They aren't just going through a bad patch, they have been toilet all season.

Swansea have to play them both and have done well since they changed manager - yesterday aside.

Think you’re overestimating Swansea and their form. In the last 5 games they’re only one and two points better than Soton and Stoke. Not a lot is it? Factor in their next match is Chelsea and it’s easy to see them staying on 33. Equally easy seeing Soton picking up points against Bournemouth. That makes for a classic six pointer scenario when they meet.

I’d add that both Brighton and Huddersfield have horror run ins and could very easily finish on their current totals. Brighton look safe probably but not Huddersfield. It just takes either of Soton or Stoke to win one and they’re under big pressure.

3 points can change a lot down at the bottom. The points differential is very small.

The thing in our favour is that Swansea meet both Stoke and Southampton in their remaining games. This means that at least two of the matches involving teams below us will mean points dropped for our relegation rivals. And we're 6 points clear of the drop zone. That's why we're 50/1 to get relegated - it will take a freak set of results to relegate us.
