First half was the best football we've played since being back in the Prem but over did it and looked a shower of sh!t of out of possession and weak in the air.

Second half we were rubbish and survived due to poor finishing and good goalkeeping.

Great atmoshpere and the Palace Ale tasted better than normal.

My missus was listening on the radio and they said that they thought the roof was gonna come off first half but commented how quiet it was second.

Some of the fouling and tolerance / lack of rolling around was enjoyable in a perverse way but only because we won.

I'm embarrassed when people asked why they are our rivals.

They don't deserve the privilege.

EAGLES!

I've just had a quick peek into North Stand S*** for some amusements and my God what a lot of utter bellends they all are. Can't stop banging on about Zaha "cheating" when it's all just the most utter bollocks. Hodgson summed it up after the Huddersfield game: he's too good for them and the only way they have of dealing with him is to foul him. They were jolly lucky to have more than nine men on the pitch at half time today but somehow it's all Wilf's fault that these agricultural clods kick him about. It's pathetic.

The more irrelevant this lot become the better. Please let them get relegated. (Then of course most of those "fans" will be off to other clubs so that they can boast in the playground about how my club's better than yours nyaah nyahh).

I’ll drink to that! It could still happen but the bookies don’t seem to think it’s likely. (Brighton getting relegated, I mean).

Absolutely loving the result and still buzzing... absolutely made my weekend!

Just some ill-informed thoughts:

Brighton's second goal was a mistake by Ward (not just him but he was done for pace) but we looked dodgy defending setpieces and crosses throughout (bar Hennessey today); their first goal in particular. I think that is where Roy has to focus on for the rest of the season... we are bloody good in attack - even without an in-form striker - but we can't bloody defend a lead very well. I am not sure what the answer is here.. I am unwilling to pin this on Benteke, but an in-form centre-forward does help take pressure off defenders with good hold-up play. Often today we'd clear the ball and it would come straight back.. when you're under pressure, you can't always play it out from the back.

442 with Wilf and Andros does seem to put more pressure on our FBs who actually aren't that great defensively.. yet that makes us so potent going forward. Worth a think about what to do there for next season. If we're safe with a couple of games to go, might be worth experimenting.

RLC is great. Let's try and sign him on a permanent.

Thought Sakho was a bit dodgy at times and yet saved our bacon on other occasions.. ditto Ward. Zaha was phenomenal first half, unfortunately was quiet second half but not necessarily his fault.Townsend and our midfield were generally solid and I thought they showed good tenacity. Tekkers was awful in the last 20minutes... the substitution made sense at the time, but then he didn't play well so I am not pinning this on Roy (although maybe Sorloth instead?)

I think we should have played Wan-Bissaka instead of Ward but, as I said before the game, I see exactly why Roy did it. Massive game, needed an experienced head in there. Ward however got done for pace and Brighton were targeting him it seemed. I think we should stick with AWB for the rest of the season.

It may sound like I am being critical, but it's more to reflect on - if we stay up - the sort of team we want to be next year.

I have to say Loftus-Cheek is sublime.

He makes running with the ball and changing directions look easy.

(From experience, I always found it a bit of a challenge)

He sort of glides forward then, without too much effort, suddenly changes direction.

The Brighton players were completely foxed. I don't know what they were saying to the referee, but I imagine it was something along the lines of: "How come the laws of physics don't seem to apply to him?"

Missed the first half! But thought he looked absolutely knackered in the 2nd, surprised it wasn't him who came off for benteke.

Brighton were so poor today and thankfully FFS Murray was completely shi'te.

We should have killed it off in the first half but a fantastic result.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Got to love the rivalry purely for how passionate our fans are about it! we can't ever be rivals with the big London boys, Millwall and Charlton are non starters, so we need to embrace it and enjoy it! The atmosphere today proved the rivalry is genuine and long may we continue in the same league!

Just seen the Murray miss on telly.

Sublime! He must be a Palace fan. Why else would he clear the danger so efficiently?

We rode our luck in that game! Not sure how people are seeing it as a clear cut victory!? Roy should have stuck with wan-Bissaka, who has the pace to deal with their winger. Ward was at fault for both goals, he lost Murray on the corner and got skinned for the second.

I’m pleased for the win, takes a bit of the pressure off but we can’t keep defending like this, undoing all our hard offensive work. For me PVA is a prime example of this, such a liability! The amount of times he will do something brilliant yet mess it up my complicating a simple pass or clearance.

Zaha deserves his plaudits but I have to mention Townsends work rate, he is a machine and you can’t doubt his commitment to the cause.

Finally well done Wayne, I’m one of his biggest critics but he stood strong today. I still think we need a new keeper, but credit where credit is due.
