Geoff Thomas for me. Wore his heart on his sleeve and his driving runs with elbow flailing. Though for excitement on the ball Zaha is up there

Don Rogers was brilliant but was only around for about 18 months - 1972-1974.

Wilf. No question. Been palace since birth but only really remember since late 80’s but he has an influence that goes beyond just his performance. Can turn a game at any given moment regardless of how he’s playing, we are lucky to have him and if England weren’t so stupid they would have been too.

Agree, it's Wilf for me and even Shearer has joined the fan club.

Agree with everything apart from ignoring Knockhart, when all is said and done it's a game of football and players should be able to show a bit of sportsmanship at the end of it. If Knockhart was trying to kick the sh!t out of him during the game, then fair enough.

In terms of being a player who could get in the very best club or international team consistently in their position it would be Kenny Sansom-as evidenced by his international caps and career. For excitement, there was no better sight than Don Rogers running at a defender then rounding the keeper. For grace and thrills, maybe it is Wilf.As a goal scorer, I suppose it's Ian Wright. I only saw Byrne when he came back to us and was past his best. Different positions call for different skills and attributes, so this is an enjoyable, but unanswerable question for me.

For me he's certainly in the top 3 with Sansom and Wright, but at the moment 3rd of those 3..!!

Has all the potential to be number one - but needs to do it consistently over a couple more seasons yet.

This has been his best season yet - without Zaha this season we would have dead and buried by now - his stats and our results without him prove that.

To be in the top 3 in the company of legends such as Sansom and Wright is a hell of an achievement - especially when you consider where he was when we took him back from Man U in 2014.

On the greatest ever if he keeps us up this year Roy must be in with a shout of being mentioned alongside Coppell and Venables (first time around) - given where we were when he took over - 34 points in 26 games after losing our first 7 with no goals..!!

Just hope Roy has enough in the tank and desire for another couple of seasons..!!

Next 4 games, close season and probably more importantly if we stay up our/Steve's dealing in the transfer window will be the determining factor.

Each era has had its own 'greatest player'. Unfair to judge Wilf against Kenny Samson, Ian Wright or Johnny Byrne. Much harder to play in current era I think. Probably Wrighty had the greatest impact on the club but as has been said his later behaviour ruined his reputation (for me anyway). If Wilf can keep us up this year and next then I think he will lead the way as the individual player that has had the greatest impact on our club (and therefore could be argued our 'greatest player').

From my standpoint will we ever see a player greater than Wilf Zaha? I am 29 been supporting palace for 19 years so missed the glory years etc but it's not just the skill, trickery etc but the passion this guy shows for the club. The way he celebrates goals - particularly brighton ones - feels me with so much happiness. Maybe i am being silly but can't see another talismanic homegrown player like him coming along for a life time. Long live king Zaha

Remind me when we had those !!
