One can compare zaha and Lombardo easily and fairly due to being of the same position Zaha is more like Ryan giggs with speed and tricks, Lombardo was more like an alien, he didn’t need the speed or tricks, shielding the ball, keeping possession, playing passes that no other palace player could read cos he was light years ahead in the way his footballing brain worked. Lombardo would have no looked out of place in a team consisting of zidane and Ronaldinho, not quite sure wilf would’ve looked quite in the same catagory, yet, anyway Lombardo world class, wilf champs league quality .

Depending on your age will have a reflection on your answer but for me it has to be Ian Wright. I started supporting Palace in the late 80's & his goals got us promoted,to an FA Cup final which we almost won & finish 3rd in the top flight which I doubt we will ever match again. Its unfair to say it was only him that contributed to that golden era because we did have a fantastic team but he was a world class goal scorer. He had to endure alot of vile abuse when he played for Arsenal against us which lead to him kissing the badge when we got relegated which he regrets now.His only crime was to leave to better his career & earn more money.Also his mother's house was getting vandalised alot after he left which also upset him which I can understand.

Absolutely has to be Zaha, because unless he's the greatest actor on Earth he absolutely bleeds red & blue. So many mercenary footballers, just dont see this in Wilf. I came across palace in primary school, and my superstars were the team of the 80s. Out of that team Vince Hilaire was undoubtedly my hero. So much so that when he left after Mullery sacking, I wrote to him as a naive 14 year old begging him to stay. A couple weeks later he replied, by sending me a picture of himself torn out of a program and addressing it to me with the words "thanks for the great support, Vince Hilaire" So for me Vince will always be my hero, but Zaha has taken everything to another level, and has to go down in a Palace folklore as our no.1 player to date, based not just on skill but his absolute total dedication to the club... That includes wrighty, I watched him from the arthur Waite terracing when his nickname was super sub, and although total phenomenon, and I'm sure he's forever grateful to Palace for giving him his chance in football, but he isn't Palace in the same way Zaha is.. He sees Palace as his apprenticeship, and Arsenal as his achievement. So he can never be our greatest. Zaha for me is greatest of all time, because he doesn't just where the shirt, he is the shirt...

It's Zaha for me and by a long way. I'm 30 so been following Palace since about 95/96.
