We sell players when it suits us, not when it suits them. A contract is only flexible when both parties agree to terminate it.

Exactly! You’ve got it! The only issue is that some people’s opinion is that £80m-£100m for a potentially disgruntled employee does “suit us”. You would rather a different value. I get that. Many others disagree. Personally I don’t see £80-100m as “knock down” value.

Please, please, please also understand that many many other clubs (the majority of the rest of the mid-table sides) survive on a strong squad rather than one star man. Arguably it’s easier that way as you aren’t f***ed when said player is injured. If £100m is invested in a more rounded squad I can actually see us doing better.

Heaven forbid we keep Wilf and he does an ACL week one. Then we are in all sorts of trouble and have a worthless asset.

Wilfs agent is Will Saltergate I believe and know one has heard from him.

Yes, Will Salthouse is the guy's name and it was certainly he who was involved in Wilf's contract negotiations last year.

The guy who has emerged as Wilf's brother is registered as a co- director and co-shareholder together with Wilf of Zaha Promotions Ltd, and Zaha Properties Ltd (Wilf has the controlling interest in both), and as sole director of Just Too Good Ltd. He is a French national 'football agent' called Judicael Boris Rodrigue Inchaud.Interesting that he should emerge only now as a spokesman for and brother of Wilf as these companies were all activated some years ago.

Without revealing sources, I know someone close to Wilf who told me that Parish had promised Wilf that if he signed a new contract to maximise his value he would let him leave. He gave the hint that this was going to be this year as well and also that it was going to be to Arsenal. It’s looking more and more likely that he may have been correct.

Not my choice of results I have to say, but if he is going then we need to have a top quality player/players lined up to replace him.

The key point here is maximize his value. Parish may well have said he could leave, but if Arsenal dont meet the valuation then he wont be going there. Unfortunate for Zaha if he wanted to goto Arsenal, but they are a complete shadow of the team they used to be. Not really a great move for him anyway.

Couldn’t agree more. Not sure what the attraction is really.

Right now, Arsenal are offering 40m. A derisory knockdown offer. When Arsenal offer 80m, maybe there is a conversation to be had.

Right now we have a team too reliant on one player, as you suggest, but I would be very reluctant to sell him until we have guaranteed replacements lined up or purchased that are of a high enough standard.
If Arsenal or anyone else wants Zaha then they had better bid the right amount soon or the window will be too tight to for us to spend the money.

That would be underhand, but the club comes first and a written contract is binding.

He apppeared in photographs with Wan Bissaka when he signed for the plastics.

However, Sky claimed to have spoken to Wilf's brother Judicael as the source of their knowledge about Wilf's desperation to join the Arse. I'm beginning to think that Sky didn't know who they were talking to, or that they invented their conversation, which is what started the current media frenzy.

I'm a bit disgruntled with a man who signed a five year contract just last year and now wants to jump ship.
If Arsenal are his chosen destination he won't be getting champions league football there, football wise I don't think they are that much better than Palace.
Let him go, I don't want him and his brother whining on all season.
He's not worth £80m, so grab it now while we can,it would be foolish not to.

Arsenal have really made themselves look foolish here, to offer that amount makes them look really muggy. We will dig our heels in now and unless they go north of 80 million, there won’t be a deal.

They have gone down in my estimation of them and it appears they are a spent force and will most probably live in the shadows of Man City and Liverpool for many years to come.

I don’t think this is going to end well for anybody involved. It’s going to get nasty and messy I’m afraid.

Ian Wright told the South China Morning Post : "We’re trying to get Wilfried Zaha, which would be magnificent. You want competition for places. Defensively, I think everyone can agree, we need some strength in there” who does Wright mean by “we”. If it hadn’t been for Palace he would have been a Sunday league player at Dulwich. He needs to learn to keep his mouth shut and respect the club that gave him is big break.
