Zaha is completely within his rights to ask for a transfer, and even to ask the club to accept a lower offer to allow that to happen. He's only asking. It doesn't make him 'disloyal' (whatever the hell that even means in this context), or erase the huge amount he has done for CPFC in his career to date. Crucially, it doesn't prohibit him continuing to do excellent work for us in the future either.

Plainly, and perfectly reasonably, he wants to play at the top of the game, feels he can do that, and that he has done all he can for and at Palace. Hard to disagree with any of that, just like it was hard to disagree with Ian Wright when he came to similar conclusions back in the day. Anyone saying it's about earning more money hasn't been paying attention: Zaha gives significant sums out of every wage packet to charities in the UK and Ivory Coast, which is a funny way to be greedy.

This is the transfer window, and he is at his peak. He will only have these circumstances coincide a handful of times in his life. In two or three short years his dream will be over forever. Of course it will affect him emotionally. Quite why it should affect any of us that way is beyond me. Some of the comments on here amaze me. Just take a moment to remember: This is not your wife/husband/partner telling you they want to leave you for someone else.

Top post!

I’ve been watching this thread for quite a while, amazed at all this negativity, come on the new season starts on Saturday, let’s get behind the boys & support them like we always do! 👍

Just found this on the BBS. It’s possible there was no late Everton bid or any bid after the initial £52 mil bid.

[Link]

If that’s true then I can think of a couple of possibilities.

1. Zaha tried to flush out top clubs to bid for him. It failed. Discussed on the bbs.

2. Parish just told him (fvck wit team Zaha) to in some kind of spat between them.

3. Anything else?

It’s certainly a distraction from the odd eventualoof our transfer window with no RB or striker but now about 5 CB’s and 7 central midfielders.

My bet he goes to arsenal in January for about 80 million, they sold iwob for 40 million so will have the funds. We need to start looking for replacements imo

He may well be gone in January. His cards are firmly on the table and all of sundry know he doesn't want to be here.

If true, I’m not surprised cpfc dodged Everton’s phone calls. Last day of the window and Wilf knows he’s not bl00dy Jordan Mutch.

I’m happy for him to go, as long as we can, and will (down to the board and not Zaha), replace him with 2-3 players and a shuffle of our pack to adapt when he goes.

That can’t happen in 24 hours and it’s a sh1tty way of behaving I expect from the w@nkers he pays to be his friends. Sad as fvck.

How do you know this has anything to do with his cronies or friends? Wilf is a grown man over the age of 18.

I wonder if Parish has told Wilf in confidence that a takeover is imminent and if completed by January can leave with his blessing because our owners behaviour smacks of this
