There wasn’t a higher Everton bid, by the independent.

[Link]

Some of the conspiracy theories on the bbs about Zaha being led a dance by Parish and Will Salthouse are quite believable actually.

This is a mad situation and the more that comes out, the more it looks like a few of Zaha and his mates being tempestuous children without a clue who’ve been easily outfoxed by Parish. Even easier this summer as all it looks like there may have been is an Arsenal bid of £40 mil and an Everton bid of £52 mil. No wonder Parish wasn’t getting hot under the collar and making any serious attempts to sign anyone late on.

We will never know what was or was not agreed/promised between SP and the Wilf camp ( if anything ).

If there was anything that was not clearly defined such as " reasonable offer " then this was an inevitable train wreck in waiting.

My feeling is someone tried to be too clever

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

In a way glad WZ stayed, but feel something is lost between him and the fans now. If this circus is repeated every transfer window, better sell him to the highest bidder and start a Palace life without our talisman.

Whilst I agree - if no serious bids came in - hoe the F**k can we sell him?

All this BS in the media and his 'team' stirring it up - leaves a bad taste

TBH Wilf is a great talent but I'd be glad to see him gone after this debacle

Reports show that the highest bid we received for him was only 52m by Everton. No way we were ever accepting that.

If Zaha wants the 'big move' which I think his talent and performances deserves (but he's just gone about it in the worst possible way) then he'll have to show what he's worth until at least January.

I still think he'll end up going to Chelsea which professionally is a much better move than going to Everton if he ever actually wishes to play in the CL.

The whole thing obviously leaves a sour taste in the mouth but I'm always willing to forgive if the performances are there...which I think they will be after a couple of weeks.

A media frenzy full of lies.
Yes he wanted to leave but sadly for him it appears he is not valued by anyone at more than £52m.
He can sulk or prove them all wrong - I suspect it will be the latter.
He has done as much for us as we have for him and when he next plays I will cheer long and hard.
I hope everyone else does too!
He will leave soon and that's fine.
Come on Palace!!!!!

Feel sorry for Roy, feel sorry for Wilf and I blame it on Parish. The fact that the rest of the window has been so shambolic suggests to me that there was absolutely no strategy. If I was Wilf or Luka why the f*ck would I want to be at this club when we have shown no ambition whatsoever on the back of a record breaking season. We have gone backwards. Any infrastructure improvements are just treading water and the playing squad is far far poorer than it was before the window.

I’m sure Wilf will go about his business like a professional when he does rejoin the squad and I hope he moves on in the next two windows and we replace him adequately.

The fact that we were avoiding contact from Everton on the last day confirms my worst fears about our boards attitude.
They are obviously an arrogant bunch of people.
In my world they have missed a major opportunity in failing to sell Zaha and then securing a good striker and right back.
They have clearly failed to grasp the nettle of modern football, clinging on to WZ at all costs.
Had we promoted the Zaha move in June we would have secured £60m for him. 65% of that would have secured a good Russian striker and a good right back.
They flaffed about for weeks with the AWB finally getting £45m for him from a very persistent major club.
They overvalued Zaha for what gain?
If he isn’t playing on Saturday then we don’t even have his services. Total failure.
We need to stop acting like big swinging dicks. Zaha is not worth £100m. He’s not worth £80m. He’s only worth what the market will pay. That is around £60m.
We are all guilty of bigging him up. He comes with his faults which we all know. The biggest clubs didn’t come for him.
We need to PLAN his exit in January WITH him NOW not on the 25th January.
To get him to perform until then we need to help him with a move. He is a young guy. He has ambition way beyond ours and he wants out. Accept that and move on.
We will secure £60m for him so long as he is playing well. If he goes off the boil forget it.
£60m is fantastic. Think positive. It will get us a good striker for £25m and a good right back for £15m (ask Matteo), pay off man u and still have some in the bank.
This will give us a team all wanting to wear the shirt. Far better than what we are left with after the shambles of this summer.
In the meantime our owners need to carefully reflect on where we are and realise that now would be a good time to sell the club and move on. The majority holders already want this. They need to grasp the situation and get the minority shareholders on board to exit. Their time is done.
To maintain our current premier status and equilibrium big changes are needed.

No one was particularly interested in him, definitely not near where we valued him. Can’t see where he would go in January, as there will be even less interested. Arsenal signed the other Ivory Coast winger, Everton have signed Iwobi. Can see it being embarrassing for him, maybe he should be ‘requesting a transfer’ to potential clubs rather than us. Think he’s played himself into a corner, with no one interested.

There we are.... ill-advised. Perhaps his anger should be vented at those that take his money not at the hand that feeds him

Everton aren't real Madrid, but they are bigger, richer and in a far better position to get European football than us.

That judas Wright? Quite possibly (perhaps apart from Zaha) our best ever player you mean? Or have you forgotten that bit?

I haven't forgotten the bot where he started kissing Arsenal's badge and relegated us. Don't care how good he was.

The rest of your post is complete bollocks too.
