I just don't think their development ideas/expectations for the club have panned out.

I'm not saying my scenario is exactly what will happen. If money/assets are removed from the club, then the prospective buyer won't be blind to that.

What I am saying, though, is that to think about our transfer strategy, we need to think first about what they'll want. This is why a lot of transfer talk may prove optimistic.

Plenty won’t take any notice and we’ll see posts taking about strikers, wingers and playmakers needed in January, spending the AWB money and future Zaha money.

What we could do with is a RB but we won’t sign any unless dirt cheap. We’ll carry on with part time Ward and Kelly as backup. If it keeps us up and we don’t do a second half season like Pardew then fair enough. All the talk of kicking on for Europe and top 6 etc could do more damage next season than we can face.

Absolutely right. A foray into Europe with the investment (lack) put into our team and the squad we have would be disastrous. Just as well there is next to zero chance we'll be there anyway

I find it strange when fans say they don't want us to qualify for Europe are happy when we get knocked out of a cup to concentrate on the league.

Cant say ive seen much of that. Quite the opposite actually with anger at the missed oppoortunities we have had in the cups e.g. Middlesbrough last season

I'm not sure that will work. Firstly if we sell Zaha for £60m we will only net £45m as the £15m will have to be paid to Manchester United and there will also be greedy b****** fees to be paid out of the net figure.

Secondly dividends can only be paid out of profits after tax and have to be paid pro rata to the shareholdings.

Finally the Americans can only sell their shares to willing buyers and I can't see anyone wanting to cough up that amount of money for a minority shareholding in a football club run by Mr P

Lots of inside sources have stated for years we have to pay United 30-40% this is why Parish was wanting 65m+ (again shows how poor he is at business agreeing to that in first place)

I 100% agree with the rest you have posted it's odd that we are a London club which has been in top league for many years now and not really seeing any interest in purchasing the club got to be something going on maybe SP being greedy or not willing to give up control.

Regarding Wilf I don't see him going in Jan which is a shame the sooner he is gone the better for the club.

To be fair we sold him for 15m and got him back for around 6m. I doubt United would have agreed to that without a sell-on fee. The story goes that the decision to buy him back was also Parish's against the incumbent manager's wishes. If that's all true then that's probably one of the best bits of business a chairman of Palace has ever done. I'm not saying SP is perfect btw, just that in this instance I think he should be lauded, not attacked.

This is another mistake people make we paid around 6m upfront transfer fee but the loan for him was 3-4m add the 30-40% that is not so great who can you claim that is good business.

United wanted him gone I bet they would of let him go for a much lower % but again SP didn't want to pay also don't forget they didn't pay 16m for him it was more like 12m with addon taking it up to 16m so they got back what they paid with loan and transfer fee.

Once Wilf is gone hopefully SP will follow

Yeah been absolute rubbish for us Zaha. Terrible bit of business.

You must be gutted with our decent start to the season.

That's the point isn't it, until this season he has got better every year and has been key to us maintaining our PL status.

grumpymort, your figures might or might not be correct, but you can't argue we got excellent value, can you?

And if he has paid it all up front you would be complaining about that.

Have you ever thought about doing something that you enjoy?

You’re like Eeyore’s less cheerful brother.
