I agree. He has gone down in my estimation. No need for his 'grumpy old git' response to a reasonable question. But that was some time ago and maybe he has matured since then!

Yes, it must be hard on occasions to have to face the press immediately after a game and to calmly talk about decisions that have gone against you. But, that is part of the deal, and if you are happy to go on TV/radio and freely chat about an impressive victory for your side you have to be man enough to do the same when things have gone against you and handle it with dignity. On occasions interviewers can ask inane questions, but, putting that aside, I think managers sometimes behave as if the interviewer is being personal and operating on their own agenda, rather than asking questions to elicit the opinion of the manager so that the fans/public get an idea of their take on the matter - in other words the interviewer is acting as a conduit between the manager and fans.
