I was most impressed at Wilf's motivational presentation on sky tv yesterday and how his confidence and maturity has grown.
He came across with passion and a sincerity which made me believe he may well be with us for some time.
If so, I can see him becoming a future captain.Maybe in a couple of years when he has further controlled his disdain for those defenders who try to cripple him.

Nope, can't see him ever being given or wanting the captaincy. We need a good captain to have a word with him to stop him from boiling over when yet another hard tackle threatens to cripple him.

I hope Luka is around for many more years and is our captain.

I can't.

The major weakness in his game is his inability to stop behaving like a sulky, petulant teenager, sitting on the floor, waving his arms around, with a pained, hard-done-by look on his boat almost every time he doesn't get the free kick he thinks he's entitled to.

Whether or not he has been fouled, sufficient for him to land on his arse, he's his own worst enemy. If he just jumped up and carried on (or indeed stayed on his feet) for the minor clashes he'd be more likely to get more support from officials when he really is hacked. He's the personification of the little boy who cried wolf.

I cannot see him changing to the extent that he becomes a Milivojevic, a Dann, a Delaney, etc. I can only see problems resulting from his interventions in on-field flashpoints. He's better concentrating on what he does best, running at defences, crossing the ball or cutting in and upping his scoring rate (like Saturday).

Very funny answer...

Hasn't stopped Ronaldo, mind.

Yes could someone link please?

I also agree that his personality and role mean that he wouldn't be a good choice for captain. Let him be a playmaker, run at defenses and do what he does best. He has license for a certain degree of selfishness and giving him captain would take that away from him. It would detract from his creativity and flair.

Great player, but just not captain material.

Putting him as captain would be stupid. He needs to carry on playing his own game and improving. Captaincy would halt that and plus like someone previously mentioned he's not captain material.

Unfortinately it is highly Wilf will be here long enough to be captain.

I would love to be wrong but I would be amazed and confused if a top 4 team don't come in for him during the summer. I mean with a seriious bid not levy taking the piss

the dignified don't even enter in the game

I agree with this he actually comes across well in interviews now. Someone told me he is now a father whether his is or not he seems to have done a lot of growing up. OK on the pitch he has a tantrum but then so did Roy Keane and he was a good captain. However I agree with the poster who didn't want to burden him with this.
