I generally agree, however this could happen if.....

Aston Villa get promotion through the playoffs, he’s still a legend down there, the fans love him and I recon they would pay Ł20M in the hope he would find his previous form.

Either way he’s worth money as clubs know he is capable and has a proven record of scoring goals in the premier league. Can anyone see past his terrible form? Promoted clubs will take the risk, just opinion.

Roy had him filling the left hand side of midfield AND expected him to join up with Benteke up front when we attacked. He was fit, strong, pacy and must have covered more ground than anyone on the pitch that day. To my knowledge, he has only been played up top on his own for 45 minutes so far before picking up an injury and yet he has had a goal disallowed (wrongly) for offside and has hit the post. I think the guy deserves a little more faith and support than you are giving him. Just my balanced opinion. Spirit of 1974

I think the guy deserves a little more faith and support than you are giving him.

Agreed. People don't see this when talking about transfers.

A club may come in with a bid that's acceptable to Palace but if the package isn't acceptable to Benteke then he can chose not to go anywhere and "fight for his place" (read pick up his wages for a minimum of effort).

As others have said, I’ve been pretty impressed with Sorloth so far. He’s strong, should have netted twice (one disallowed erroneously and one hitting the post), fights for the ball, can hold it up. Sorry Croydonlad but I strongly disagree. Regarding Ward - he is currently badly off the place and has looked a little out of his depth for the previous two seasons. Benteke is probably the most difficult of the lot. We know he is fully capable but his confidence is absolutely shot and at the moment we can’t afford to carry him. Still, with a good preseason....
