Personally have always believed Mutch could make it in the Prem but that's such an unpopular view that I tend to keep it to myself.

Good news about McArthur with the BBS reporting that he told the FYP podcast that he quietly signed a four-year deal two years ago. Weird, all this will he/won't he extend speculation.

What I've seen of Rakip I quite like. He's a continuity player much like Cabaye has been for us. I could see him working his way into the 1st team.

My order of preference for extending/re signing would be

Cabaye
Sako
Hennessey
Kelly
Ward

And I think Damo needs his gold watch and our deepest gratitude.

thing is to replace the players i noted in todays market it would probably cost near £70m & thats without wages.

ward alone would cost £15m if you take PVA & schlupp as examples.

last summer i said i wouldnt care if we signed nobody other than sakho, and i will make the same statement now.

of we resign the players i noted above & got RLC (or similar) i would consider it a very good window...we have a very good squad and dont need to spend a vast amount, that would give us enough to stay up again.

It's never too late until the player says themselves they don't want to sign or the manager doesn't see them in his plans. To commit to a deal while sweating on what league you'll be playing in next season would be foolish, but now as we are relatively safe the contract talks are coming into play if anything they've got it spot on imo.

Edit: this being said i wouldn't be surprised if either left over summer.

I agree with this both have been able to sign pre contract agreements since January and haven't that to me indicates they are willing to stay for the right offer. Also maybe they wanted to see where we were playing next year. Ward is rumoured to be very influential in dressing room so would be a great loss, his treatment by FDB and hence his loss of confidence was a big part of our bad start.

Sako has had a really bad injury but before that was turning into a decent striker. Keep
