I can remember PC Keith Blakelock and no one rightly called for this kind of thing. 20 rioters inflicted 43 stab wounds and attempted to decapitate Blakelock, who was left with a knife embedded in his neck. Same old story just like in the US when a black man gets shot by police and everybody goes nuts. How many white people get shot by police every day and is it considered newsworthy? Of course not. I’ve always had my doubts about the whole Stephen Lawrence thing anyway. A bunch of white guys walking down the road evidently decide to kill a black guy for no reason and without provocation knowing they will go to prison for the rest of their lives. You have all been had by Mrs May. It is a naked political move to cover her tracks and appeal to black voters in the wake of Windrush. I am against having a day like this, regardless of colour, it will only perpetuate this awful event, the mother Mrs.Lawrence wants to 'draw a line' after 25 years but now there will be the opposite, forensically examined each April and the community ever further from healing. The public are not responsible for what happened at all and should not bear any guilt imposed by Mrs May. I will not be observing it personally or any other of Mrs May's micro managing of people's lives. She can get stuffed.
