Allardyce and Everton fans have I missed something

Big Sam is probably at his best in dragging sides up, by the scruffs of their neck, from danger. He is not suited, nor probably able enough, to manage a top side. Of course a number of supporters see Everton as a top side in waiting. Now we may mock that idea but it's not that long ago that the notion of Man City or Chelsea being top-dogs would have seemed ludicrous. Older Everton fans will recall the team winning the league twice in the mid-80s, and even older one titles in 1970 and 1963. So Everton do have a history of success at the top level, and I guess, if I were a fan, I would still harbour a belief that with the right set-up the glory days could return. As such I can see that, for starters, Big Sam might not seem to be the right fit to take them in that direction.

Won the league 9 times, FA Cup 5 times, League cup twice Full Members Cup runners-up in 1991 I’d say they’re pretty massive.

They’re equal to what Villa were in the premier league for perspective, but could become a Chelsea or Man City with huge investment and big new stadium. You could almost fill the premier league up with clubs that could be that powerful but without CL qualification it’ll mean that financial problems with huge player contracts and fan disappointment etc will creep in with a lot of them.

Everton have been s*** my whole life. Don't really see the need to consider them any more significant than a lot of teams out there. There history is up there with Stoke City, Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Wanderers in terms of relevence in 2018. When I was a kid the 3 teams with the longest top flight run were Coventry, Aston Villa and Everton. Being s*** catches up with everyone eventually. They could do a lot worse than Sam.

Sky Sports News believes Allardyce to due to meet Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri tomorrow where his six months in charge at Goodison Park will come to an end. It’s understood Allardyce will be paid the vast majority of the final 12 months of his contract, estimated at around £6m.

Big Fat Sam with his likely £6m pay off will be a very wealthy man indeed,and will earn even more in his next venture in China. Not a bad bit of business for the Fat One who claimed wanting to spend quality time with his family and grandchildren as the driving force in leaving the Palace job.

Everton fans seem deluded to the extent that not only do they have a divine right to Premier League football but it has to be played in a certain way as well. As for Fat Sam, he'll probably retire now. Well, until January anyway.
