assuming that Benteke, Wickham and Sorloth all stay.
assuming that James Daly needs another year.
I think Hernandez offers something different and would be a decent addition to the squad.
You need to factor in the cost too, at £16m he seems a little expensive to me. At £10 he'd be a buy though.

I agree with the first points Parrot, but I don’t think you’d get much for £10m and the way we operate transfers SP might offer pay as you play and we’ll end up with nothing.

Surprised I haven’t found a thread with someone else suggesting this guy. He’s reportedly unhappy at West Ham and wants out. & as Rio Ferdinand said yesterday, after scoring goals for Real Madrid & United & being benched by West Ham, it’s hard to blame him really.

For me he fits the billing to a T of the striker we’re missing out on. Fits the usual criteria of having premier league experience too. Would fit Roy’s style of play down to the ground, is an absolute live wire and a true modern day poacher.

Appreciate he may feature more prominently in Pellegrini’s plans. But when I see us linked, heavily now, with Antonio. I can’t help but feel we’re targeting the wrong West Ham player.

Apologies. Was searching too hard for a Chicharito rather than a Javier Hernandez. Mods feel free to merge.

I wouldn't mind him but I suspect he will want big wages, along with a sizeable fee for West Ham.

And he'd have to have Hernandez on the back of his shirt too, as stupid nicknames on shirts annoy me.

Were you around in Malcolm Allison's day?

On topic: didn't look very good in his first match. I'm a big fan of Chicharito, but he looked overweight and not willing to work, simply walked very close to where the ball was being played at times. He may have lost his most important asset- speed. With time, he has gained a little more technique, but not a lot.

He did provide the assist for the Mexican goal against Germany, but overall, I didn't like his playing. Sometimes you just have to accept that time has passed for some players at the highest level. Chicharito is on the wrong side of 30.

Nope. But they didn't have names on shirts back then anyway.

Unfortunately Palace players did and our team included The Roadrunner, Stroller, Blockbuster and The Hustler amongst others

Chicherito is someone who needs constant attention. Very high maintenance but he's happy he's very productive.

So he needs someone to say "Chicherito tell me what's wrong." ?
